Blog Tour: Review of Tell me When by Stina Lindenblatt

Amber Scott should be enjoying life as a college freshman. She should be pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She should be working hard to make sense of her precalculus math class.

She shouldn’t be waking up her college roommate with screaming nightmares. She shouldn’t be flashing back, reliving the three weeks of hell she barely survived last year. And she definitely shouldn’t be spending time with sexy player Marcus Reid.

But engineering student Marcus is the only one keeping Amber from failing her math course, so she grudgingly lets him into her life. She never expects the king of hookups will share his painful past. Or that she’ll tell him her secrets in return, opening up and trusting him in a way she thought she’d never be able to again.

When their fragile future together is threatened by a stalker Amber thought was locked away for good, Marcus is determined to protect her. And Amber is determined to protect Marcus…even if that means pushing him away.

Tell Me When by Stina Lindenblatt is a powerful journey from an emotionally gripping tragedy to finding the strength to overcome. I fell in love with these characters, my heart absolutely shattered for them, and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It’s phenomenal.

This story addresses some serious issues and topics that may not be for everyone. Stina Lindenblatt handled this sensitive content with poise and grace. I commend her for doing her research and approaching the graphic nature of these situations with respect and sensitivity. If you’re looking for a lighthearted read, this is not for you. If you’re looking for an emotional rollercoaster that will give you whiplash and leave you breathless, buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Amber Scott has survived the unthinkable, but was left with scars that are both external and internal. Following the trauma, Amber is alive but barely amongst the living. She transitions through the day doing the minimum to stay afloat, avoiding anything that might trigger her memories. When the minimum is no longer enough to get by, she must seek help from Marcus Reid or lose what little she has left for good.

Love is not a powerful enough word to describe what I feel for this story. It emotionally tore me apart and left me to suffer for a good while. By the end, however, it had mended my heart and soothed my distress. Marcus and Amber both have tortured pasts that have left them damaged and incapable of finding closure. I loved that both characters had afflictions and could then relate to one another. Their connection was strengthened by their similarities and made more realistic and believable. I don’t want to give away anything from the plot because that would completely spoil the book. With that being said, I cannot stress how much I truly enjoyed the emotional depth of the story and how both characters strived to gain redemption and break free from the harrowing traumas in their pasts. Tell Me When by Stina Lindenblatt is beautifully tragic, but worth every bit of heartbreak and pain.

  1. Thank you for participating in the blog tour! I wish I could write reviews like this. Not only did it make my day, it was filled with emotion. Flat Diet Coke is more interesting than what I usually come up with. :)
