Sam’s eyes turned silver as she studied him, her head cocked to one side. “If you think you can, try.”

“I don’t foresee any difficulties,” he said, striding toward her. After all the stabbing and head bashing, he’d have thought she’d have enough sense to stay abed.

Obviously, he was wrong.

Sighing, I run my hands down my face as I open the door and step out. Instead of my door across the hallway filling my vision, Lucas stands before me in a tight blue t-shirt. We are less than a foot apart, if I lifted my hands they would brush against his chest. Holding You by Kelly Elliot is the third novel in her Love Wanted in Texas Series and is my favorite story so far. This is Colt and Lauren's story and I've been dying to get inside Gunner's son's head since Elliot conceived the idea to write this series.

There is something so familiar yet unique about Kelly Elliot's stories. It's hard to not fall head over heels in love with her characters and wish their world was real. Watching Lauren and Colt's story unfold was heartwarming, easy to connect with, and reminiscent of Ellie and Gunner's love. Their relationship is thriving with passion and infectious chemistry that brightens your day and makes you smile. This electric couple can't get enough of one another and their love is eclipsing just like Colt's parents.

Outside of their perfect relationship bubble, reality awaits. College classes must be juggled, duties on the ranch must be tended to, and friendships must be maintained. Colt and Lauren must learn to balance their relationship with their responsibilities. Every woman on the planet can relate to this struggle -- balancing the magnetism and pull of a new relationship with life outside of that connection. To me, this made Lauren and Colt's attraction and relationship real and made their love one of my favorite books Kelly Elliot has ever written.

If I hadn’t been holding the baby, I would have dropped to the floor and told Colt to take me. The throbbing between my legs was unreal. I was ready to blow off this little party Grace had organized and take Colt back to my house and have my wicked way with him.

Licking my lips, I couldn’t pull my eyes from Colt, who was now gazing down at Mireya and talking baby talk to her.

I felt someone come up next to me. Hot breath was next to my ear as Grace whispered, “Don’t even think about it.”

5 FEEL GOOD STARS

What would you do if you walked in and caught your boyfriend with the secretary? On your bed? Would you wallow in self pity or would you buy a lottery ticket and tie on a good one? I think so.  Then what would you do if you happened to win 2 million dollars with said lottery ticket? I’ll tell you what Megan does.  She leaves her life behind and begins a cross country road trip filled with red whore boots, alcohol, meat, and magic. You’ll understand completely when you read the book because this is a MUST READ.

Megan catches her boyfriend in a compromising situation with the secretary from their office.  She doesn’t cry, she doesn’t throw herself into hysterics. Nope, she kicks them out, goes to a meeting and knocks it out of the park, then she binges with her sister. She did happen to pick up a lottery ticket while buying the booze and well, she wins.  She and her best friend, Lo, head out on a hell of a memorable road trip to find themselves and their new beginning.

They meet many new people and make new friends on their adventures. They’re the modern day version of Thelma and Louise without the suicide. They have fun together, cuss each other out, and can speak with just their eyes. They’re the epitome of “The Person”; if you don’t have one, you need to get one. Everyone deserves their person.

Megan doesn’t want to just blow all of her money so Lo does some very smart investing and creating a company for the both of them and sets them on their way for life.  They travel from Georgia to Nashville, down to New Orleans, over to Texas and on to Las Vegas with a final stop in California.  There they decide to settle down and open up shop.  With new acquaintances and possible lovers these girls are actually viewing the world as their oyster. It’s theirs for the taking.

I absolutely loved this book. I can’t wait for book 2.  This is the friendship that every girl needs and deserves in life.  It shows you how important friendship is and how no matter what men may walk in and out of your life, your friends will always be there.
