~ Book Synopsis ~
Tell me your story June....
June thought she had it all. She soon found out how wrong she was. Her dreams of finding the good life were washed away when she was dumped on the sandy beaches of Mexico. Now back in Boise as an overeducated server, she doesn't even know where to begin on fixing her life. But one thing June does know is the new guy at work is one to stay away from. Reece Day catches June’s attention, even if she doesn’t want it. Reece has the uncanny ability to always get in the last word, to get under June’s skin, making her question what she really wants in life.
June quickly realizes that for the first time in her life, she finally has the chance to find herself.
3.5 ★'s
I know normally people wonder what the point of half star ratings is. I personally use it only in situations like this where the book deserves more than a 3★ but I didnt quite get into it enough for a 4★. With that said...
Finding June is about a girl who just ended a 3 year relationship while vacationing in Mexico, but not by her choice. Shes a college gradute who thinks it is best to go back to Boise. After a 3 month hiatus she returns only to find she's no closer to "Finding June" and who she really is.
Que Reese!!! He's hot guy she works with, as a server, when she returns. Feeling like she has no direction in her life she tries hard not to drag him into the nonstop, misguided circle that is her life. Reese did steal my heart. Not afraid to go until he gets the last word in is what made the witty banter back and forth between him and June fun to be in the middle of. I guess I see some of myself in Reese lol
The things I didn't "love" so much about this book is how June comes off whiney more then once throughout the book.. I don't have a soft heart for whiney, negative characters like I use too.. These tough, harden heroines have ruined that for me. (Not the fault of the author, totally my opinion) The other thing that held me back from a higher ★ review is there were a few places where the book kind of lost its drive and I found myself taking long breaks between certain chapters. It didn't necessarily hold my attention. A book that should have taken me 1-2 days to read took me the later part of 3. All in all it was an enjoying concept and I will read more from this author in the future regardless of what lil quips I had with Finding June
