Bad enough Jade Frost's boyfriend drags her to a boring poker game. Even worse that he actually threw her into the betting pot during an intense round...and lost. Talk about the perfect excuse for Jade to make him her ex-boyfriend.

Now she supposedly belongs to the ultra rich, extremely gorgeous Shep Prescott. He could have anything he wants yet he seems to be in hot pursuit of her. No matter how rude, how snarky, how impossible she acts, it doesn't stop him. More like her horrible behavior seems to make him want her more.

When she finds herself starting to fall for him, Jade's confused. There's more to Shep than the carefree rich charmer he portrays. No way could he want a serious relationship with her...or could he?

Sarah’s 4.5 Star Review:

I really enjoyed Fair Game by Monica Murphy. This is the first book in a new series from Monica and can be read as a standalone. Two more books are yet to come in The Rules series and I can't wait to read those as well.

Jade Frost is a college student who attends a poker game at an illegal gambling house with her boyfriend Joel. The house is owned by a young rich man whore named Shepard Preston whom Jade hates. When Jades' boyfriend is almost out of money Shep makes him an offer that he can't refuse. He bets on Jade because he thinks he has an unbeatable hand but he doesn't and he ends up losing Jade for good. Jade is beyond pissed and she lets Shep know that there is no way she is going to comply with the deal. What she doesn't know is that Shep is used to always getting what he wants and he will stop at nothing to make Jade his. Jade tries to ignore Shep but he is very persistent so she finally agrees to go on a date with him. She soon realizes that Shep isn't the guy that everyone makes him out to be. The more time she spends with him the stronger her feeling for him get. Will Jade continue to fight her feelings for Shep or will she decide to give a relationship with him a try?

"He touches me and I melt. And when he kisses me? Oh good lord, all of my very logical, very smart brain cells evaporate into thin air and I am left wanting more."

Shep is a 21 year old college student who has more money than he knows what to do with. He is a one and done type of guy when it comes to women until he meets Jade.  He has never been interested in a relationship but there is something different about Jade and he wants to get to know her better. The more time he spends with Jade the stronger his feeling for her get. Will Shep continue to fight his feelings for Jade because of the bad example of love that his parents portray or will he decide that Jade is worth taking a chance at love on?

"There's something about this girl that I think.. might be worth waiting for."

I loved the chemistry between Jade and Shep. I loved that Monica wrote this book in a dual POV so that we could get both sides of the story. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. I do wish we would have gotten to know a little bit more about how these two dealt with the issues with their parents. I am hoping we see more of these two in the other books in this series.

The series continues!

Newly broke girl Alexandria Asher just wants to live a normal life. After her parents are sent to prison on embezzlement charges, she enrolls in college under her mother’s maiden name and tries her best to pretend she’s someone else.

This only spurs Tristan into action. He loves nothing more than a challenge. And the beautiful Alex is exactly the type of challenge that intrigues him.

Despite her reluctance, Alex finds herself quickly involved with Tristan. Underneath that playboy exterior is a good guy, a sweet and sexy guy who she is undoubtedly falling for. What they both don’t realize is the actions of Alex’s parents are the reason for so much tragedy in Tristan’s family. And when Tristan discovers who Alex and her family really is, can he forgive and forget?
