Sam met and began dating Alec and over the period of a couple of years, they fell in love, chose colleges together and made plans for the future. Well Alec was hiding some serious secrets and decided it would be better for Sam if he just left her and saved her from the pain he knew she would experience. What he didn't know was that his leaving her caused her more pain than she would have experienced if he had stayed.
Sam decided after months of dealing with the pain and loss of her relationship with Alec that she would go visit her girls at Auburn University. There she meets Emmett who's one of the biggest players on campus. Though he tells her he's a player and she says she's not ready for a relationship they spend the night together much to the chagrin of her friends. Sam decides she's going to attend Auburn instead of going to the school she and Alec were both accepted into. After months of staying on and off with Emmett she finds herself falling in love again. She's very leary of falling because of the pain and hurt she experienced with Alec but she decides to love with all of her heart instead of holding back.
Life from this point on pretty much sucks for Sam. She discovers truths and secrets that she never even dreamt were a possibility. She experiences more hurt and loss in just a couple of years than most young girls should ever experience. She learns that true love never just disappears because relationships are over. Together, she, Emmett, and Alec are tied together through the secrets and the pain.
First loves, true loves, heart break, and goodbyes fill this book and filled my eyes with tears. I loved the flow of the book, the details, and the friendships that abound in the book. I don't know how much loss and sorrow one girl must suffer but this girl is so much stronger because of all that life and fate have thrown at her. There are twists and turns that I never seen coming and they really kept me drawn in. I loved having the different point of views from each of the characters. I could really feel and experience what they were going through. I can't wait to read more from this debut author seeing as how she knocked this out of the park!
This is a definite must read! It's sweet, exciting, angsty, and full of surprises, twists, and TORMENT! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did! Stacy, you have another avid fan!

The sound of tapping woke me up. I cracked my eyes open, waiting for everything to
come into focus. The sun peeked through my bedroom curtains. It was such a
beautiful morning. Shaking my head with a wry smirk, I crawled off the bed,
knowing only one person would be plinking pebbles at my window.

I shuffled to my window and spread the curtains wide. Smiling up at me was my

it in my life, but damn, I loved him.
