For Victoria, it started with the perfect dress and the perfect man...well, she thought he was perfect.
For Cameron, it started with a devoted wife and a bright future...until he discovered devotion was never high on his wife's list of marital duties.
When trust is tested and faith in the power of true love is lost, there is only way one to restore it:
Give that person everything you’ve got, nurture it, love it…
And watch her bloom.
JESSICA'S 4 STAR REVIEW:
Bride in Bloom
By J. B. Hartnett
4 Stars……. A bouquet of love
“When you know, you know. And when you’ve lost everything you thought was real, you recognize real when you see it. You just have to trust it. When you lose something you thought was real, that experience gives you perfect clarity and I trust that this. What’s happening between us is real.”
What happens when your world shatters and you are left to try and pick of the pieces of what you once thought was your happily ever after? Victoria and Cameron are two individuals struggling to deal with the heartache and betrayal they’ve been dealt in life. They have both been scorned and are now trying to move forward and create new happiness in the aftermath of devastating sorrow.
“You’re light and when you’re ready, I hope I get to make you shine again. Because once you’ve had sunshine, nothing will ever be as bright again.”
For Cameron the sting of his failed marriage is raw and fresh and each day is a testament to his strength being surrounded by reminders of a life and a future that is no more. Each day he submerges himself in his work just to occupy his mind enough to dull the pain of reality. All too soon he is faced with the realization that Victoria will soon need a strong shoulder to lean on and someone to help her emerge from the darkness. Cameron is by Victoria’s side ready to help soften the blow even before she knows it’s coming. The tenderness and caring nature shown by Cameron is inspiring he captures your heart with his thoughtfulness. He would move heaven and earth for his Fairy Princess.
“She had a fire that made you want to bait her so you could experience that passion first hand, and a vulnerability that made you want to wrap her in your arms and protect her from the big, bad world.”
Victoria has kept people at arm’s length her whole life never really giving anyone the chance to get inside her heart, because that’s where they can hurt you. She finally concedes and freely gives her heart away but quickly learns she was right to be cautious. Reeling from her utter devastation and barely hanging on by a thread she starts to see that Cameron is trying to help her recover. Over time she learns to find herself again and slowly develops a friendship with Cameron.
“I think we both know that with us there’s a beginning and a middle, but there will never be an end.”
Cameron and Victoria have been through so much but together they somehow make all the pain and sadness disappear and leave nothing but happiness and love in it’s wake. This is an amazing story of two people finding each other and helping one another deal with hardship and creating beauty in the face of devastation. This book is dual point of view so the reader is connected to both the hero and heroine equally. I would definitely recommend.
“You know, I will never hurt you. I will never make you doubt me, our marriage, our family, our life. I’m not built like that. I love you and I do it from the bottom of my soul because this ride goes fast. I don’t want to waste any of it, doing anything less than loving you completely until the day I die.”
Excerpt:
As soon as she granted me access, I took her mouth hard and deep. When I pulled back, she was limp in my arms. “Victoria?” I chuckled and gave her a small shake while she smiled, still with her eyes closed.
“I’m swooning. And, not sure, but be careful you don’t slip in the puddle under my feet that kiss just created.”
