What happens when your world shatters and you are left to try and pick of the pieces of what you once thought was your happily ever after? Victoria and Cameron are two individuals struggling to deal with the heartache and betrayal they’ve been dealt in life. They have both been scorned and are now trying to move forward and create new happiness in the aftermath of devastating sorrow.

“You’re light and when you’re ready, I hope I get to make you shine again. Because once you’ve had sunshine, nothing will ever be as bright again.”

For Cameron the sting of his failed marriage is raw and fresh and each day is a testament to his strength being surrounded by reminders of a life and a future that is no more. Each day he submerges himself in his work just to occupy his mind enough to dull the pain of reality. All too soon he is faced with the realization that Victoria will soon need a strong shoulder to lean on and someone to help her emerge from the darkness. Cameron is by Victoria’s side ready to help soften the blow even before she knows it’s coming. Victoria has kept people at arm’s length her whole life never really giving anyone the chance to get inside her heart, because that’s where they can hurt you. She finally concedes and freely gives her heart away but quickly learns she was right to be cautious. Reeling from her utter devastation and barely hanging on by a thread she starts to see that Cameron is trying to help her recover. Over time she learns to find herself again and slowly develops a friendship with Cameron.

Cameron and Victoria have been through so much but together they somehow make all the pain and sadness disappear and leave nothing but happiness and love in it’s wake. This is an amazing story of two people finding each other and helping one another deal with  hardship and creating beauty in the face of devastation. This book is dual point of view so the reader is connected to both the hero and heroine equally. I would definitely recommend.
