APRIL'S 4.5 "CUPCAKES" REVIEW:
Claimed, the second novel in The Decadence After Dark series. And it MUST be read after Owned, book one. It follows perfectly with the story, leaving no open holes for you to wonder the what-ifs.
Claimed, picking up right where Owned left off, bringing us to Ellie living in Hawaii. She is trying to piece her life back together after Kanye. Going to school, get over him, but she still misses him and his ways no matter how hard she tries to deny it.
Kanye is drinking his feelings away, he can't move on from Ellie. She was his "Kitten." He has lost all control of who he was before her. Jett has stepped in as his brother, protector (drunken bar fights), etc.
Kanye and Ellie do reunite in a sneaky but romantic "Kanye" kind of way. (If you read Owned, you will know what that means and how he likes his control over situations) Ellie finds her way back to him, but gets closer to Jett in the meantime. Jett, reveals himself to be more comedic/best friend to both/and lover to another, in this book. You will see a side of Jett that makes him more likeable also.
This book is HOT as the first, I still can't look at a cupcake the same way after Ellie and Kanye. And if someone calls another person "kitten", I tend to giggle. I am glad they get their HEA, both of them deserve it after all they have been through. And yes, Claimed is a bit different than Owned, but it will still leave you wanting more. These three main characters are just, wow. You know you want more, but can your head and heart handle more Kanye and Ellie?
I give this book 4.5 "cupcakes". I love the intensity and love behind the characters. Enjoy these wonderful books, you won't look at cupcakes and hear kitten the same way again. ;)
