ABOUT MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE:
At the age of twenty-nine, Hannah Martin still has no idea what she wants to do with her life. She has lived in six different cities and held countless meaningless jobs since graduating college, but on the heels of a disastrous breakup, she has finally returned to her hometown of Los Angeles. To celebrate her first night back, her best friend, Gabby, takes Hannah out to a bar—where she meets up with her high school boyfriend, Ethan.
It’s just past midnight when Gabby asks Hannah if she’s ready to go. Ethan quickly offers to give her a ride later if she wants to stay.
Hannah hesitates.
What happens if she leaves with Gabby?
What happens if she leaves with Ethan?
In concurrent storylines, Hannah lives out the effects of each decision. Quickly, these parallel universes develop into surprisingly different stories with far-reaching consequences for Hannah and the people around her, raising questions like: Is anything meant to be? How much in our life is determined by chance? And perhaps most compellingly: Is there such a thing as a soul mate?
Hannah believes there is. And, in both worlds, she believes she’s found him.

SARAH'S 5 STAR REVIEW:
Maybe in Another Life is the first book I have ever read by Taylor Jenkins Reid and it definitely won't be my last. The storyline of this book is so different and very intriguing. I was sucked in from the very beginning and was sad when it was over.
This book follows the life of Hannah Martin, a 29 year old woman who moves back to California after traveling for a few years. She moves in with her best friend Gabby until she can get back on her feet. They all go out one night to celebrate and at the end of the night Hannah has to decide whether she wants to leave with Gabby or go home with her old high school boyfriend Ethan. What will the consequences be for each choice that Hannah has to make?
The book is written in alternating chapters. One chapter telling the story of how Hannah's life turns out if she leaves with Gabby and the other telling how her life turns out if she goes home with Ethan.
“Every second of every day, the world is splitting further and further into an infinite number of parallel universes, where everything that could happen is happening. There are millions, trillions, or quadrillions, I guess, of different versions of ourselves living out the consequences of our choices.”
This book took me on a very emotional rollercoaster and I loved every second of it. It definitely had me thinking about my own life and how different things could be based on one little decision we make in life. I highly recommend reading this book if you are looking for something a little different.
