Synopsis:
When Dee Dawson meets sexy mohawked guitarist Joel Gibbon, she knows it won't be long before she has him wrapped around her finger. No guy has ever been able to resist her … but Dee's met her match in a player like Joel.
Dee's not the relationship type—not after seeing the pain "love" has caused her friends and family—yet she's desperate to make Joel want her more than anyone else. He quickly becomes an obsession, and when a reckless attempt to make him jealous ends in disaster, Dee turns into the damsel in distress she never wanted to be. With her carefree world crashing down around her, the last thing she needs is Joel's pity.
But Joel is suddenly determined to prove he cares, and no matter how hard Dee tries to push him away, he refuses to let her shut him out. Now the girl who swore she'd never say those three little words must choose between guarding her heart and losing Joel forever … or falling head over heels for the tattooed rock star of her dreams.
SARAH'S REVIEW:
I really enjoyed Riot by Jamie Shaw. This book focuses on Dee and Joel who we met in Mayhem. I was very happy when I found they were getting their own book. This book is full of angst, drama, sex and intense chemistry.
Dee is a the fun loving sex-crazed best friend of Rowan. Dee enjoys having a good time with lots of men and has no interest in a relationship. When she meets Joel, a band member in Rowan's boyfriend Adams band she thinks she has found the perfect setup. Joel seems like the type of guy who likes to just hook up with women and toss them out when he is finished with them. Dee uses another member of the band to make Joel jealous and things take a dangerous turn. Dee quickly realizes that she is living a dangerous life but just continuing to sleep with anyone. Will Joel be able to convince her to take a chance on a relationship with him or will Dee continue with her wild ways?
Joel is busy living the rock star life. He does what he wants when he wants. He loves spending time with Dee when it is convenient for him. He had a rough upbringing and doesn't like to get close to people other than his band as they have known him for years. When he finds Dee in a dangerous situation it terrifies him. He decides that he needs to make some changes in his life and become a better person. Will the changes he makes in his life be enough to convince Dee to take a chance on a relationship with him?
I loved the connection between Dee and Joel. There were times I wanted to slap both of them but I was happy with the way everything turned out. This book took me on quite an emotional rollercoaster and I loved every second of it. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
