My Sweetest Escape is the second book in Chelsea M. Cameron’s My Favorite Mistake Series. I’m a huge fan of her novels, and this story exceeded every expectation I had. I LOVED IT! This story isn’t a sequel to Taylor and Hunter’s story in My Favorite Mistake, but instead follows new characters tied into the original gang we met in MFM.
Jos, Renee’s little sister, has experienced something that has changed her. No longer the model of perfection, her parents send her away to live with her sister. There she meets our hero, Dusty. He’s a former bad boy with baggage of his own. I loved their chemistry and relationship dynamic. They were playful yet stubborn. No matter how hard she tries to shake his advances, he is persistent and keeps pursuing her. Their relationship was a balance of give and take. Both had something to offer to restore the other and took something in return to heal themselves. I fell in love with Jos and Dusty just like I fell for Hunter and Taylor.
I was invested in the plot from start to finish. The beginning built the foundation of the characters and story, teasing at major revelations to follow. The second half of the book delivered some seriously shocking and heart breaking twists. I loved the rollercoaster that Chelsea put me through. There was laughter, angst, devastation, and heartwarming romance. I cannot wait to see what comes next from this series!

I was shocked & a tad nervous when i saw this book was being released. My Favorite Mistake, was my favorite book it was the beginning of my Chelsea Cameron obsession. I was scared to see how this book would compare.
Jos, the loner sister of Renee comes to live the the group, after something tragic turns her into the complete opposite of her former self. Dusty, the misunderstood friend of Hunter, always seems to be in the right place at the right time. When Jos & Dusty's world collide she is forced to face demons & reality. When push comes to shove we see just why these two are being pulled together.
During this book I experienced a roller coaster of emotions. I felt every emotion Jos seems to deal with. Her love, sadness, guilt & struggles. Watching her struggle with the new life shes been having, is just the beginning of book.
To say this book is as good as the first, would be a correct statement. However, I might just be lead to say that this book may be better than the first.
