Savannah Rae has flown across the country for her job, leaving Tate alone and feeling as if a part of him is missing. This story follows Tate as he tries to cope with his surfacing insecurities and doubt as the distance tests their relationship and commitment to one another.
I always love getting inside a male character’s mind and I loved every page inside Tate’s head. Tate is fiercely loyal and determined to do whatever he can to make his relationship with Savannah work. He fell in love with her the moment he saw her in Just Breathe, the first book in the series, and has fought hard to make her his. There are countless tender moments between the pair and an abundance of passion. I loved seeing their connection deepen throughout the story and watch their characters grow.
Despite being perfect for one another, their relationship is a constant work in progress. Savannah and Tate are both stubborn and fiery with tainted pasts that have left self-doubt within them. Their love is a constant roller coaster with plenty of unexpected twists and angst. It was heartbreaking at times watching Tate’s composure and confidence unravel. Tate must face his deepest fears and work through them in order to keep his relationships intact.
There was never a dull moment in Breathless. I was once again sucked into the whirlwind that is Tate Connors and Savannah Rae. The story does end in a cliffhanger, and definitely left me wanting the next book in the series. Get lost in the passion, love, and turbulence with Breathless by Rachel Brookes.
