STEPH'S 5 STAR REVIEW:
The Exhibitionist by Tara Sue Me
(The Submissive series)
The main characters of this story are the Dominant Nathaniel West and his wife/submissive Abigale (Abby) West. They have been married for many years and have 2 wonderful children together. Between the move, the kids, and their jobs, they haven’t had much time to play as they would both like. With the children at home they cannot just be the Dom/sub couple. So they decide to make “levels” for her while she is wearing his collar. At times it will be strict and other times she has more freedom. For example kneeling at his feet while he is sitting on the couch what would one of the kids think if they saw that? So between the levels and looking for a nanny they are trying to find a way to make it all work. They have many friends (some couples) that are in the same lifestyle. So they attend many functions for the BDSM group. Another reason that they needed to hire a nanny. But who could they trust with not only their children but their private life as well? It would be easier to trust someone that knows the lifestyle so it wouldn’t be odd if they got caught playing out in the open. But who could that be?
They have been Dom and sub for long enough that Nathaniel realizes that he may not be fulfilling Abby completely. Abby needs and craves things that are difficult for Nathaniel to do at home in their playroom. He does not enjoy having people in his playroom as that is his personal space. He wants to give her what she desires but he is confused as to exactly what it is that she needs. They have been attending a number of parties and even partaking in a few demonstrations and each time her desire increases. Nathaniel begins to wonder if he can truly provide for her as her one and only Dominant. He does not share what is his especially when it comes to his wife. No one is allowed to touch her sexually that is a hard limit for him. But again he is not sure if that is their hard limit or just his? In a moment of anger he does something that pushes them both to their brink and one of them safe words. The ultimate breaking point. He later realizes just how bad he screwed up. Trust is key in giving your ultimate submission. He has broken that trust with Abby as she feels that his anger got in the way of keeping her safe. A sub that doesn’t feel safe cannot truly give in to her Dom. He went too far and he isn’t sure if he can make it right.
I am going to give this book 5 stars because I love the way that the story is balanced. The author keeps the balance pretty well where it’s not just a bunch of sex scenes with a dash of plot. To understand what some of the scenes are about you need to have that dialog and back story with the characters and she does that very well. Now with that being said in no way does she skimp on the hot and sexy scenes there is definitely plenty to get your heart racing.
