YOU WERE MINE by Abbi Glines
Gossip is the ultimate currency in Rosemary Beach, but Bethy and Tripp have managed to keep one big secret to themselves.
Eight years ago, Tripp Newark was dating a rich girl he didn’t like and was on his way to Yale—and a future he didn’t want. The only way he could escape his predictable life would be to give up the money and power that came with his family’s name. And that’s exactly what he planned to do. At the end of the summer, he was going to ride off on his Harley and never look back.
That was before he met Beth Lowry.
It was only supposed to be a summer fling. She was a sixteen-year-old trailer-park girl who served drinks to his friends at Kerrington Country Club. They didn’t run in the same social circles. No one even knew they were friends, let alone lovers. Yet, for one summer, Bethy became his entire world.
But he couldn’t give up on his plan. He needed to leave Rosemary Beach, but he vowed he would come back for her.
Problem was, by the time he came back—years later than promised—it was too late. His cousin, Jace, had already claimed the woman he loved. . . .

SARAH'S 5 STAR REVIEW:
The Rosemary Beach series by Abbi Glines is one of my all time favorites. You Were Mine is the 9th book in the Rosemary Beach series and this book focuses on Tripp and Bethy. We have read a little bit about their relationship throughout the other books and now we finally get their story.
Bethy and Tripp first met 8 years ago and they became inseparable rather quickly. They spent an entire summer together and Bethy thought Tripp loved her and would be her forever. She gave him everything including her virginity and then he left without a word to anyone. She was left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart. As we know she moved on with Jase and Abbi ripped our hearts out with his death. Bethy was left to deal with Jase's death and continued to blame herself. How will she react to Tripp's return to Rosemary Beach? Will she let him back into her life or will she continue to live a sad lonely life?
“You want that girl you left behind. I’m not her! Don’t you get it? She’s gone. I’ve lost her. I made choices that made me an awful person. I’m not worth all this time and energy you’re wasting.”
Tripp comes back to Rosemary Beach as he is tired of running from his life and he wants to try and get the love of his life back. He knows how much Bethy has struggled since losing Jace and he has made it his mission to keep her safe even its from a distance. He knows he made a huge mistake when he left her all those years ago but he will do whatever it takes to get her back in his life. His constant presence starts to wear on Bethy and she finally agrees to be friends again. Will they be able to work through their issues and have a relationship or will Jace's death always keep them apart?
"Things worth having don’t come easy. You have to fight for it until you’re tired of fighting, and then you take a breather and fight some more.”
Our story wasn't over. It would never be over. If I had to stay here and watch over her, even though she wouldn't let me get near her, I would. For the rest of my motherfu*king life.
I loved the connection between Bethy and Tripp and their deep for one another. This book was not only about their love story but also about Bethy's journey to heal. I love that we get to keep up with all the other characters from the series. I have to say the parts with baby Nate were probably my favorite. My only complaint is that I think the story ended too quickly. I would have liked to read a little bit more into their future but I assume we will see more into all of their lives in the next book. I can't wait for Mase and Reese's story!!
