Jennifer says...
“How can you see into my eyes
Like open doors?
Leading you down into my core
Where I've become so numb
Without a soul
My spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there
And lead it back home”
“Wake Me Up Inside” Evanescence
When I think of Parallel Spirits, I
think of destiny, the hidden power believed to control what will happen in the
future.
Mara has been a carrier spirit for
more than three centuries. She finds a “home” or “host” in Belinda, an
eighteen-year old high school senior. Belinda is willing to “host” Mara, and in
exchange, Mara will help Belinda find love.
Paranormal is not normally my
genre. I am a huge Cassia Leo addict and knew I had to give this book a chance.
OMG am I glad I did. It is a love story with twists and turns and Cassia works
her usual magic, captivating you with every word.
Belinda’s best friend, Frankie, of
course another HOT character, who is always there for her. She wants to confide
all that has happened to her with him, but fears that he will think she is
crazy. He is an amazing best friend and I was kinda sorta team Frankie for a
bit.
Then Belinda meets Conor, and
sparks fly. He is sweet, warm, and SMOKIN hot!!! So then I switched and I was
all “Team Conor”. I will not share which team I landed on in the end…you will
have to choose for yourself. But just know that both are swoonworthy and will
be fighting for your affections.
Belinda and Mara are both enamored
with Conor, but that is not the only challenge they face. Someone from Mara’s
dark past comes into play and possesses none other than Conor’s body. It is a
wild ride and you will be shocked and left breathless.
In Cassia’s words, “Falling in love
is just as dangerous as battling evil spirits.”
I wanted to jump in the book and
fight these evil spirits with them. I cannot wait for the next book in the
series. I am so anxious so see what Cassia has in store in the next book!!!!!
5+++++++++ STARS!!!

When she’s not writing, she spends way too much time watching old reruns of Friends and Sex and the City. When she’s not watching reruns, she’s usually enjoying the California sunshine or reading. She believes in true love and happy endings, and that the most palpable regrets come from watching those two things slip away. Her favorite books and movies are the ones that challenge her mentally and leave her emotionally scarred. Her family has declared her a "method writer" because she gets "in character" while writing. She believes becoming the character is the only way to truly understand him or her. Her dream is to one day score a record deal based on her awesome shower singing skills.
P.S. There is no better song to sing in the shower than "Colors of the Wind."
