Blog Tour: Girl on Tour by Caisey Quinn

Girl on Tour, the highly anticipated sequel to Girl with Guitar, is AVAILABLE NOW!

at the following retailers:

Synopsis:

An up and comer trying to make a name for herself...

KYLIE never expected to be stuck on a tour bus with a pampered princess and her boyfriend’s ex.

A troubled artist struggling to hold onto his career...

TRACE thought he was finally getting to do things his way. Until the label added co-headliner Gretchen Gibson, the only person in country music with more issues than him, to his No Apologies tour.

Surrounded by tabloid rumors and people they can't trust, Kylie and Trace need each other more than ever. But the choices they make will change everything.

Because chasing your dreams and following your heart don’t always lead you to the same place…

Jennifer says...

5 Stars

Trace: “You came back to me. I thought…I didn’t think…I—“Kylie: “I’ll always come back.”

She was a junkie. A Trace Corbin addict. And damn proud of it.

I AM A TRACE CORBIN ADDICT.  I will never, ever get enough of this man. Yes, he has his share of problems, but the love he feels for Kylie is pure, “see inside your soul” love. The kind that brings you to your knees and melts you into a puddle.

Caisey Quinn had blown me away with Girl On Tour. Her writing is incredible and you fall in love with these characters all over again. She brings you right to Nashville and you have a front row seat to a spectacular show.

The follow up to Girl With Guitar is everything I hoped it would be. You know, the kind of book that will have you laughing, crying, and making wishes on stars for their dreams to come true. You feel the characters’ pain right along with them. We meet Lily and Mia, the girls on Kylie’s tour and they add much needed humor and a busload of drama. I loved these girls!!!

The journey of Kylie’s tour and separation from Trace is a bumpy one. They are trying to make their long distance relationship work, but face many challenges along the way. Rumors, lies, and lack of communication are only a small part of the evil plan of the universe to keep them apart.

“Don’t know who deals the cards that decide the hand we’re dealt…”

I wish I could give Trace and Kylie a better hand of cards. I read the warnings and I knew going into this book that it does not end with…”And they lived happily ever after.” It ends with your heart shattered and needing to be glued back together, much like real life. All I can say is they NEED their happily ever after. They belong together. I am holding my breath waiting for Caisey’s next book.

I’m playing on Caisey’s words:
Dull ache? Check
Sickening stomach-plummeting feeling? Check
Dizziness and nausea? Check
Beautiful, poetic words written like a country love song? Check

So please, Caisey Quinn, write Girl In Love FASTER!! I am hanging on by a thread waiting for the conclusion of this story.

Excerpt:
He pulled out her chair and she sat, watching his every move as he made his way to his own seat. “I hope this is okay. This is the most private table they have.”

“It’s perfect.” She tried to breathe normally and ignore the strange feeling in her stomach.
Trace grinned, revealing the boyish dimples that framed his perfect mouth.

“They have the best steak here. Seriously. You better order one for yourself because you’re not getting any of mine.”

At that, she laughed and her nerves eased up a bit. “Oh, I bet you’d give me a bite if I asked nicely.”

He eyed her from over the top of his menu. “Do you ask for things nicely? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you do that before.”

With her stomach clenching from the heat in his stare, Kylie put her menu aside. “Maybe you’ve never had anything I wanted badly enough to ask nicely for.”
He raised a brow and opened his mouth to respond. But at that same moment, a waitress appeared and asked for their drink order. Kylie didn’t miss how flustered the girl became when she got an eyeful of Trace. It would’ve been irritating, but really, with the way he looked tonight, Kylie couldn’t blame her. She was still trying to get a handle on her own self.

When the waitress left, Trace leaned across the table. “Actually, I take that back. I’ve heard you ask nicely a time or two. Matter of fact, it bordered on begging. I think it went something like, ‘Oh God, yes, please. Trace, please.’”

Heat crawled over her skin at his imitation of her. Barely keeping the grin of embarrassment from her face, she shook her head. “You’re not right. What kind of thing is that to say to a girl on a first date?”
He grinned back, the promise of something dark gleaming in his eyes.

“Considering this date is going to end with that dress on my bedroom floor and your legs wrapped around my neck, I think it’s a perfectly acceptable thing to say.”
Good Lord. What was she going to do with this man? Oh yeah. Exactly what he’d just described.

Excerpt:

‘Look, I have to go. Can we talk about this later?’ Dad was asking Mum. Joe had shut the door behind him, and it was a good thing he did too, because when Dad had finished speaking, Mum picked up an empty bottle of Grey Goose vodka and threw it at his head. She missed, missed by a mile, but that didn’t stop the bottle hitting the wall behind him and shattering into thousands of tiny pieces.

‘Jesus!’ Dad exclaimed. He turned around, surveying the damage.

‘Oh, look what I did! Can’t have clean-cut Stevie D trashing the green room. People might talk!’ Mum’s voice dripped with sarcasm. It sounded hoarse, no doubt a result of the hours she’d spent alternating between crying and screaming up until now.

‘Even if this was our bloody lounge room, I would still be furious! You can’t just throw s**t like that.’

‘I’ll throw whatever I want to throw!’ Mum yelled. ‘You’re so uptight.’ She walked up to Dad and put her hands on his shoulders, shaking them. ‘Give up this stupid dream already.’

‘And do what? I can’t afford your habits any other way. If I don’t sing, you have to get a job.’ Dad shook his head.

I inched around behind them and started to pick up the pieces of glass. They were all different sizes, and some had gotten stuck in the carpet. They required a bit of twisting to retrieve, but the others I could pick up with ease and place in my hand.

‘What do you want me to do? I don’t have any skills. And there’s clearly only one thing you think I’m good at these days,’ Mum said, leering. She pulled at her top, exposing her décolletage.

I focused on the glass again. I counted each piece in my hand. Thirty-six, thirty-seven, thirty-eight. On the fortieth piece, a shard broke through my skin, spilling bright red blood. Funny. I hadn’t thought my skin would be so thin.

‘Amy, you’re hurt!’ Mum pushed past Dad and came to kneel next to me. ‘What are you doing?’ She knocked my hand with her own, and the pieces of glass flew up into the air and landed back on the floor.

All my efforts — ruined.

‘Let me see,’ Dad said.

‘Get the hell away from her!’ Mum yelled, raising her voice again.

‘Do we have to do this in front of Amy?’ Dad asked. I felt them turn to look at me. Did they think I hadn’t heard? That the fights they’d been having all day in the adjacent hotel room hadn’t resonated with a hatred that travelled through walls?

‘Please don’t,’ was all I could say. But it was enough. Dad left the room, and Mum tended to my hand, spilling some vodka to cleanse it before wrapping it in a spare t-shirt.

‘I’m sorry, baby,’ Mum whispered to me. ‘I promise, things are going to get better.’

Only they didn’t. They got much, much worse.

While June and Caroline try to maneuver their way through new relationships, Caroline starts lying to June to protect her from a truth that threatens to break her heart and tear them apart.

In the end, Caroline’s deceit will test their friendship, and June will have to decide if her chance at love is worth putting her heart on the line.

Excerpt:

I’m not sure why I did it, but I got up two hours early, took an extra long shower, made sure my hair cooperated, and put on my good makeup. Okay, that’s a lie. I know exactly why I put so much effort into getting ready. Today, I am supposed to see Cohen. Not only am I supposed to see Cohen, but we also have plans to go out to dinner. Once again, I’m unsure about what he wants to discuss, but this time, I’m trying not to make any assumptions. Also on the agenda, I hope to not injure him or myself while we’re spending time together.

I walk into the office with my chin up and a big smile on my face. If he is already here, I want to look like I’ve been fine. I sure as hell don’t want him thinking that I’ve been moping around and pining away for him since last Friday morning. Making my way through the maze of cubicles toward my office, I see no sign of him. I let out a sigh as I step through my door. I place my workbag next to the desk, and I turn to glance at the clock.

Something moves in my peripheral vision. It scares me enough to make me jump back, causing me to fall into my large potted plant-tree-thing in the corner. To avoid hitting the ground, I sit cockeyed in the pot. My face is covered in limbs and large green leaves. Peeking through the human-eating plant, I can see Cohen sitting on the comfortable sofa with one hand held over his mouth. I don’t hear any sounds, but from the looks of it, he’s laughing. For some reason, my usual standoffish self takes a holiday. I launch myself up from my seat in the pot holding the plant, and I take brisk steps toward him.

“What are you doing in my office? Do you enjoy scaring the crap out of women and causing near catastrophes? Or is it just when you see me?”

His eyes grow wide, and those sexy wrinkles beside his eyes fade. Thank God. I don’t think I could hold on to my angry attitude if he kept smiling.

“Mr. Hargrove wanted me to tell you that we’ll be meeting in the conference room at eight thirty. I have to leave by the end of the week, so we need to get started on the rest of our project. I came to tell you, but you weren’t here yet, so I made myself comfortable. I’m sorry if I scared you.”

“Right. Okay. Well, you can go now. I’ll see you at the meeting,” I say, turning toward my desk.

With my shoulders back and head held high, I walk over to my desk chair and sit. Looking back at Cohen, I give him the meanest stare I can muster.

“See you there.” He stands to leave, but then hesitates as if he wants to say something else. His mouth is open, but then he bites down on his bottom lip, holding back.

“Did you need something else?”

“Actually, I was just going to tell you that unless you enjoy the feel of sitting on bark, you should probably find a mirror and wipe off your skirt.”

You have got to be kidding me!

He walks out of the office with the wrinkles by his eyes reappearing.

I have enjoyed reading and writing since I was very young. Some of my fondest memories from childhood are of spending time with my mom or grandma reading a good book. Over the years, it never crossed my mind that writing my own novel would be an attainable goal. After reading several independently published novels by Jamie McGuire, Colleen Hoover and others, I decided I needed to give that dream a chance.

Blog Tour: Review of Mid Life Love by Whitney Gracia Williams

Blurb:

If you'd asked me what love was two years ago, I probably would've said, 'It's this amazing feeling that obsesses and possesses you; it's what me and my husband currently have.' If you ask me that same question today, I'll say, 'Please get the hell out of my face.’

Claire Gracen's life is picture perfect. Her career as a marketing director is on the brink of being legendary, and her marriage to her high school sweetheart has never been stronger. No, wait. It has. It used to be amazing and fulfilling, but one day Claire realizes that she's been living a lie and her best friend and husband have committed the ultimate betrayal.

Broken and depressed, Claire is in need of something new—new city, new job, new friends.

When she happens to attract the interest of the sexiest man she's ever met, a man significantly younger than her, she immediately turns him down—only to later discover that this man is Jonathan Statham, self-made billionaire and CEO of Statham Industries. Her boss.

Jonathan Statham is unlike any man she's met before. He's used to getting whatever he wants—whenever he wants, and he isn't about to take no for an answer.

Sexy, unpredictable, and charmingly clever, Mid Life Love is a story that will captivate you, entertain you, and force you to fall deeply in love with the characters.

Julie says:

Mid-Life Love is quite a different love story than one I have read before.  If you like the older woman, younger manlove story, then this is the one for you.

Claire is raising her twin teenage daughters on her own while still trying to deal with her past divorce.  Her ex-husband destroyed her after she found out he and her best friend were expecting a baby.  So, I can’t say I blame her with any trust issues she now has.

Jonathan is the CEO of his own company.  He is not your typical billionaire where everything was handed to him.  He suffered an awful childhood and really did start from nothing as he made his way to the top.  He can have anything or anyone he wants, but once he sets his eyes on Claire, he knows he wants to find out more about her, especially since he found out she works for his company.

From the time they meet, Claire is practically terrified.  She is eleven years older than him and feels right from the start they could never work.  She thinks that their age difference is the biggest factor between them and thinks she will only get hurt in the end when he finds a newer model, so to speak.

When circumstances from Jonathan’s past resurface and he has to try and deal with them, Claire is forced to push Jonathan away even further.  I love how determined Jonathan is to keep her and tries to do everything he can to not make her run away even further.  But, will her insecurities win out in the end?

“I’ll do whatever you ask me to do if it’ll make you happy.” – Jonathan

Mid-Life Love deals with an issue I’m sure a lot of women will go through when trying to date the younger man.  I found it to be quite interesting, but I did feel at times she was being childish and I really got a little tired at how she just kept pushing him away.
I kept wanting to just say give it up and make a decision.  But, Jonathan is very persistent.  There are times when I actually wish I had a fast forward button to move it along a little better.  I can only give it 3.5 stars because it is just not one that just jumps out at me.  My favorite part of the entire book is “ML” and you will have to read it to find out what that means!!

She deals with it in the only way she knows how by falling heads first into the web of power and deception. Follow book two of the sexy Protege Series where nothing is as it seems.

The Men in The Protégé Series
By Kailin Gow

Twisted is how I probably would describe everything in The Protégé where the plot and the people are not what they appear to be.  This is a highly erotic book that is sensually stimulating but contains a plot that explores the psyche of love…and obsession.

Where is the line between love and obsession? Who is the Master and Who is the Protégé?

While The Protégé is mainly from Serena’s point-of-view, the men in The Protégé have an incredible journey just like Serena. Their relationship with her will change and meander with her. And they will be a strong force in the way she change.
Sebastian Sorensen
The Protégé introduces the sexy, smart, and sensitive Sebastian Sorensen, the talented and successful Hollywood music composer who teach graduate-level classes at college. He believes in his students, and he also takes them under his wings.  One particular student, Serena Singleton, becomes more than his protégé, and what started as an arrangement becomes a life-changing experience for both of them.
Sebastian Sorensen, whose life seem perfect, will soon have his entire world turned upside down. Serena Singleton is not whom she appears to be, and now he can’t get enough of her.

Price Turnsby

The young handsome and incredibly ruthless self-made billionaire Price Turnsby has a secret life. He has grown up on the fringe of the glittering world the Sorensens are in the center of, and have watched everything he’d ever wanted, go to Sebastian Sorensen.

Until Serena Singleton.  He must have her. At. Any. Cost.

I hope you enjoy the journey!
Sincerely,
Kailin Gow

Blurb:

Bailey Hayes moved across the country ten years ago after a tragic accident left her motherless. Distraught, confused and just sad, Bailey opted to leave the only life she has ever known to attend college at NYU. Determined to not experience the loss of a loved one again, Bailey keeps her one friend that she made as a freshmen in college. And that’s it. She dated during her college years but she never let anything really stick. Not trusting herself enough to give her heart and not get hurt she was satisfied with the life she led. That is until she met the handsome, confident and successful Hollister Harrison.

Bailey was swept off her feet instantly with his charm and charisma. Six short months of dating, she finds herself moving in with him. The minute she had her bags unpacked, the fun loving romantic she fell hard for was starting to dwindle away as he became unnecessarily possessive and borderline abusive. Bailey insists on making her relationship work in fear of repeating her past and making a haste decision by leaving too soon. On a weekend when Hollister is out of town, she meets a guy. A beautiful charming guy whom she feels an obvious attraction for, but also a unique connection with. The beautiful charming guy is none other than her running partner’s brother. Bailey finds herself in an oddly nice predicament.

The beautiful charming guy is none other than her running partner’s brother. Talon McAllister has chosen to dedicate himself to his family’s business his entire adult life. He adores his parents and his sister and hockey. Not leaving much time for anything else he has been single for years. Meeting Bailey Hayes changed his outlook. He wants her. He will do whatever he has to do to get her on the same page.

Finding out she lives with her boyfriend deters him from his mission of getting her to be his. But when she calls and asks to tag along on his vacation with his sister, he can’t help but get excited. When he picks her up and sees her bruised and battered face he figures “game over” he is going to show her how she deserves to be treated. By the end of their first day together alone, Bailey propositions Talon with a brief relationship without boundaries and no lines to cross. He’s in… all in.

Will this brief encounter without boundaries relinquish her twisted sense of loyalty to Hollister or will she walk away from her greatest love for fear of repeating her past?

Elle's Review:

Cover-to-cover this book was a fantastic read! Overall I found the book to be uplifting and downright enjoyable. I was impressed!

I commend C.J. Azevedo for approaching the issue of abuse in this novel. Dealing with a serious topic like abuse, I expected the book to be dark and unsettling.

Instead, I found the book to be incredibly uplifting. She handled the topic with such finesse.

Writing the story from dual points of view was a great way to give insight on the main characters, break up some of the more intense scenes, and create a balance between heavy and carefree moments.

I was able to digest the gravity of Bailey’s situation without being absolutely overwhelmed by the severity of it.

“That day, something inside me broke and I’m pretty sure it was my soul. Apparently your soul can heal after some time passes because I know for a fact that it’s shattering this very moment.”
Bailey is a character that I think every woman can relate to whether or not she’s been in an abusive situation. If you remove the abuse, you’re left with a story about a girl who has to make a choice.

Does she stay loyal to Hollister whom she’s invested time with even though the relationship is longer emotionally gratifying? Will this relationship turn around with more time and effort?

“I just know that what I’m going through is because this is the path I chose many months ago when I moved in with him.”

Or does Bailey take a chance on a stranger who gives her the spark she’s been missing with Hollister? Is there a future with Talon or is there connection nothing more than a fleeting moment?

“It felt like she was ripping my heart out of my chest.”

Deciding whether to stay in or leave a relationship whose expiration date is looming is something all women can relate to. The choice isn’t always black and white, and sometimes the choice you make isn’t always the right one.

I was rooting for Talon the entire book. He’s just an all-around catch. I may not have agreed with all of Bailey’s decisions, but that didn’t take away from how much I love this story. Not to mention the epilogue was absolute perfection.

I highly recommend adding Without Boundaries to your TBR list and reading it as soon as possible! This book is a MUST READ

Jennifer's Interview with CJ Azevedo

1.       When did you first decide that you wanted to write a novel? When my notes on paper became too much to keep track of. Fall of 2012 I had an idea that wouldn’t leave me so I started to make notes of it and it soon turned into a full story.
2.       Where did you get the idea for Without Boundaries?
I really don’t know. Bailey, my heroine, had a story to tell so I told it for her.
3.       What was your inspiration? I know my answer for this isn’t exciting, but really it was just the characters inspiring me to get them out of my head and share their stories with whoever will read them!
4.       What was the most “pull your hair out" frustrating moment about writing Without Boundaries? Bailey had to make a decision and it was one where as you’re reading it you’re yelling at her to go left and she goes right. I hated writing that part but it was important.
5.       What made you decided to do an original cover for your first novel instead of a stock cover? I’m a bit of a control freak, so I wanted my work to be showcased exactly as I saw it in my mind. No matter what people say, they DO judge books by the cover, so an original, beautiful cover was necessary for me (in my eyes) being a debut self-published Author.
6.       How long did it take you to write WB? The writing took about six months, but it was nine months start to finish.
7.       What is your favorite part in WB? The Epilogue takes the cake for me, but the bathtub scene in the Hamptons… where he takes a bite of the chocolate croissant he’s feeding her, definitely favorite part!
8.       What was the last book you read? I’m currently reading ‘In too deep’ by Samantha Young.
9.       Who is your favorite author? No possible way I can answer that.
10.   Are you currently working on any future projects? Can you tell us about it? I am actually. I am close to finishing Without Doubt, which is the 2nd book in the Without Series. It is the story of Declan James who you’ll meet in Without Boundaries and the mysterious Ava Sterling, who you read about but doesn’t make an actual appearance in WOB.
