Blog Tour: Twisted by Emma Chase

Summary

Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times bestseller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.

There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself—and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made hisin fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone...

What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.

Men of Inked Series Book #1

SYNOPSIS:
Suzy’s a control freak and has her life mapped out - work hard, find a man with a stable job, and live happily ever after. She’s content with the status quo, but her plan comes to a screeching halt when he enters her life and turns it upside down.

City gave up on love when his heart was crushed in college, preferring to be the typical bachelor. He spends his nights hopping from one bed to another and his days working at his family tattoo shop, Inked. A chance encounter on a dark road makes him question what he had sworn off forever – a relationship.

A night of passion and lust causes them to question everything. Is City the knight in shining armor to the damsel in distress? Can their relationship survive when a fantasy falls apart and a secret comes out that changes everything?

Becky says…

To be honest, I bounced back and forth between 4☆ or 5☆before writing this review. The questions I ask myself every time I rate a book are *Does it have a cliffhanger? This one is a major one for me because I Loathe cliffhangers more than anything. BUT NO it does not have a cliffhanger. *Was the storyline believable and easy to navigate through without becoming lost in the words? ABSOLUTELY!! *Was it a page turner from the beginning? YEP Are the characters relatable? *Sigh* City is my new book boyfriend HELL YES THEY WERE Would you read this book again? ABSOFUCKINLUTELY!

So with the Q&A part I do mentally with every review, I realized it was absurd to give Throttle Me anything less than 5☆ This is my first book by Chelle Bliss but it will not be my last!! And I CAN NOT wait to get my hands on Men of Inked #2!!!

Suzy is a shy, kinda backwards, reserved Math Teacher who has a plan of how her life should go. I see her as being on of those women who need the 2 story house with the white picket fence, picture perfect husband and 2.5 flawless kids. But on the inside a freak is waiting to be unleased lol. I even pictured the Stripper Teacher from Varsity Blues a few times as I read. I loved Suzy and found her character to be so endearing! I do think opposites attract and I guess that's why I am drawn to good girl falls for tatted and pierced bad boy. Suzy being stranded on the side of the road was probably the best thing that could have happened to her. Fate had it in his cards for her to meet City Gallo *sigh* (Just typing his name makes me fall in love with him all over again)

City Gallo is a bad ass, Italian, Biker tattoo artist who stole my heart and melted my panties the minute he came into the story.

"Yep, you're cute. Innocent, but fucking dying to be bad"

Yep he has the mouth of a bad boy for sure but he is sweet as can be too! He has a way of pulling Suzy out of her shell and making her emerge a stronger character after! There is not much more I can say about City without giving the book away.

I loved being introduced to his family and if my calculations are right we can expect possibly 4 more books in this series!! I can not wait!!

“Do you swear?” I asked as she set the glass back on the bar.
“What?” She gaped at me.
“Do you swear? Simple question. You’ve said ‘heck’ and ‘friggin’’ so far, but nothing dirty.”
“Oh, um, yeah, I swear.” Her cheeks turned pink and a small smile spread across her face. “I’m just used to watching my words with the kids around all day.”
“Prove it,” I said as I stared in her blue sapphire eyes.
“What? Why?”
“Cause I need to know if it’s in you. Are you all good girl or is there more under there dying to come out?” I hid the smile and laughter that was so close to breaking free from my lips. The pink of her cheeks spread across her face. I know I embarrassed her, but fuck, I needed to know if I stood a chance.
“Yes, I swear. What do you think I am? I’m not a child, City.” She glared at me as she raised the drink to her lips and wrapped them around the rim. Fuck I wanted those lips wrapped around my shaft, taking me deep and sucking me off.
“Never said you were, babe. Do you drink besides tonight?” I asked, now smiling because I knew she was upset. I liked the fire I saw in her eyes when I pointed out her good girl qualities – she obviously didn’t like being labeled.
“Sometimes. I’m just responsible. I don’t drink and drive. My dad used to be a cop and it was drilled into my head at an early age.” The words she spoke hit me like a ton of bricks. Drunk driving was the one thing in the world that caused my blood to boil.
Good girl teacher with a cop father? Just my luck. “Nothin’ wrong with that. Virgin daiquiris aren’t always your thing, then?”
“Why? Do I have to be a drinker? I mean does it make me less of an adult?”
“No, Suzy. Just trying to get a feel for who you are – what you are.”

Blog Tour: Third Degree by Julie Cross

Fans of Monica Murphy and Tammara Webber will savor this New Adult novel—a story about coming of age in the heat of the moment—from Julie Cross, the internationally bestselling author of the Tempest trilogy.

I used to be “Isabel Jenkins, child prodigy.” As lame as that sounds, at least it was an identity. But now I’m not sure what I am. I just failed the most important exam of my life—the emotional readiness test required to get into a medical residency program—and it turns out my parents can’t stand each other. Now I’m trying to figure out how to pick up the pieces of my life, and that means re-enrolling as a college freshman, but this time I’m shutting the books and majoring in being eighteen.

But so far, my roommate hates me and I’m not into the party scene. The only good thing about school has been getting to know my insanely hot RA. Marshall Collins makes me wonder about everything I missed while I was growing up too fast. Pretty soon we’re hanging out constantly, but for the first time, I find myself wanting more than a no-strings-attached physical relationship. And the lesson I really need is one Marsh definitely can’t teach me: love. Because I’m going to be alone forever if I don’t learn fast.

Elle says

Third Degree by Julie Cross can only be described as perfection. It’s a story of finding yourself while adapting to life’s challenges. I was glued to my e-reader and could not put this novel down. It’s a well-rounded mix of adversity, unexpected twists, and romance that will build you up, break you down, and leave you satisfied by the end.

Isabel Jenkins is a child prodigy and shows promise of being a phenomenal doctor. She’s excelled academically her entire life, but her weakness is in her social skills – or lack thereof. Her immaturity and young age are apparent by her inability to connect with her peers and show sympathy towards patients. I cannot gush enough about how much I adore Isabel. Her journey is one of beauty. At times it was painfully awkward for her as she navigated difficult situations. I just wanted to shelter her from the harsh aspects in her life. As the story progressed, I loved watching her transform and gain elements in her life that were missing before.

Marshall Collins is a catalyst for a huge portion of Isabel’s transformation. He’s her RA and has challenges of his own. Along with others, he teaches her how to let loose and experience life, as a college freshman should. He is downright loveable and will definitely make you swoon. My heart soared and broke for Marsh. On the one hand, he is so composed and has a solid life foundation. The further into the story I got, the more I learned about Marshall, and how his solid foundation was merely a façade covering his weaknesses and fragility.

Julie Cross has absolutely nailed this story from start to finish. I was sucked in from the beginning and immersed in these characters and plot. She does a fantastic job of balancing lighthearted humor with the heavier moments to create this incredible read that will leave you with a slight hangover but immensely satisfied. Pick up your copy of Third Degree by Julie Cross today!

Jenn says

4 stars!!

I was pleasantly surprised by Third Degree by Julie Cross.  I didn’t have any real expectations going in…. the blurb looked like a good coming of age story that I enjoy and I flove the cover!  Yes I am a cover whore and good cover always catches my eye!  What I didn’t expect was the humor behind the story!  This book made me laugh so many times!  It’s a very witty story about the female version of Dougie Houser MD (am I dating myself too much here) aka a young genius that has entered medical school at the young age of 16 to purse her dreams of becoming a surgeon and the dashing leading man that every girl loves and the journey that life gives us. It’s not always the journey we expect it to be but the turns and twist is what makes it so worth it in the end.

Isabel Jenkins was fortunate to end of with the picture perfect foster parents of a high school teacher and a highly respected surgeon. Her mother committed suicide when she was a small child and went to live with the Jenkins who was able to recognize how intelligent she was.  She was home schooled and was able to do more before the age of 18 that most people spend the majority of the twenties doing!  She has her eyes set on Johns Hopkins for her residency and feels like she would be a perfect fit!  Until her psych evaluation does not recommend her attending at this time.  Being that it’s too late to apply to another residency, she does what any other normal 18 year does... she goes to college.

Enter the charming and handsome Marshall Collins.  He is the RA in the dorm that Isabel moves into.  He’s a junior at the college and in charge of her floor.  He’s also from the same town as Isabel and actually had Isabel’s mother as a teacher.   They hit it off and become close friends but somewhere lines get blurred and their relationship grows into something more. But what Marshall doesn’t tell Isabel is that he has a secret that he hasn’t shared with anyone.  He has been able to hide it from his close friends but with Isabel being the smarty she is, she starts to see the signs and knows something is not right.

It’s a great story about discovering yourself and the love and relationships we find along the way.  There is a great support cast and again the humor in the book was hilarious.  It’s not your typical coming of age story where girl goes to college to fall in love but I think I liked it even more because its different that others in this genre.  I love reading a book and it ends up giving me something that I totally didn’t expect!

Advance praise for Third Degree

“With quirky characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and a touching romance, Third Degree is a refreshing entry in the New Adult genre. I can’t wait to read what Julie Cross comes up with next!”—Roni Loren, bestselling author of Need You Tonight

“I fell for quirky, brainy, socially awkward child prodigy Izzy and even more so for her sweet, compassionate, and hot RA, Marshall. I was rooting for their happily-ever-after and was sighing with satisfaction by the end.”—Christina Lee, author of the Between Breaths series

“Loved! Fans of Huntley Fitzpatrick’s My Life Next Door and Tammara Webber’s Easy will fall hard for this book.”—Krista Ritchie, co-author of the Addicted to You series

Expected Publishing Date: March 7, 2014
Hosted by: Tantalizing Promotions

Rhianne Shepard is odd. Well, she thinks she is.

Actually, she's gifted, she's beautiful and she's extraordinary, but she's lonely. No friends, no family except her mother. Thinking she's destined to spend the rest of her life hidden in her solitary existence, she thinks that no one knows the REAL Rhianne even exists.

Jamie Travis does. Even though they've never spoken. Not once. He wants her to know that he cares, he knows she exists and he wants her to start living.

Circumstances throw them together, and Jamie thinks he finally has his chance to show Rhianne that she really is someone special. But he could never have guessed the battle he faces against the doubts in her mind, put there by a mentally ill mother, an estranged father and a gift that she might never understand.

Does he really have the ability to fight her inner demons, and win? Or is he fighting a losing battle?

“Sweetheart, listen to me.” I already was... “You believe what you want to. If you think that I’m everything you just said then, not that I thought it was possible, but I love you more. I don’t agree though, I’m not your hero and I don’t take care of you. You take care of yourself just fine now, you just needed a push in the right direction. I’m not dragging you along with me anymore, but I’ll always be holding your hand, running along beside you. We’re equals and I wouldn’t have it any other way. You’re everything to me, you changed my life too, always for the better – no matter what shit we’ve been through in the process. If it meant I could have you turning to me, in our bed, every morning looking at me with your
beautiful blue eyes and whispering ‘good morning’ babe I swear, I would go through it all again.”

Names Danielle Breeze, I’m only twenty-three but some days I feel forty!! I'm a single mum to two beautiful young children (makes finding the time to write challenging to say the least!!). Born and raised in Coventry, England – don’t think I’d ever really have the guts to leave here!! I’m a romantic at heart, love a happy ending and I’ve been known to make up my own endings in my head to other books if I didn’t agree with theirs haha!!

I listen to music CONSTANTLY!! Especially when I'm writing. I spend my days tidying up after my kids, making dinner, taking the kids to the park...nothing interesting!! But I like to spend time with my wonderful friends and family, going to concerts, on holidays, out for drinks :) all the usual things!!

I have always read books, magazines...the back of the shampoo bottle...ANYTHING I could, since I’ve been able to form words!! I wanted to write my own books even when I was just a little girl, scribbling little pieces down on scraps of paper, anything to get my ideas out!! I was as at university when I decided I was going to stop wanting to do it, and actually do it!! I have plenty of different works in the pipeline, so I hope you like my stuff .

Blog Tour: Beginning with Forever by Lan LLP

CEO Carson Bradley is rich beyond boundaries in the pharmaceutical world—being the co-founder of a targeted treatment for early stage cancer. With a missing soul, he strives each day to find a cure for the disease that took his first love away at the young age of seventeen. His mother finally convinced him to marry a woman equal his striking good looks and affluent status. On his way to St. Marten to marry Bianca, the woman he doesn't love, a tropical storm diverts his plans by forcing him to jump out of his private jet and into a black violent ocean. Carson floats ashore and is rescued by a medical student, Lillian, who’s studying abroad.
Lillian Ly is humble and kind and has a generous heart as vast as the universe. Being raised poor by a single parent; she matured quickly and respected the sacrifices her mother made for her. Lillian’s determination leads her down a stringent five-year path with no room for love.
But regardless of their plans of avoiding love, they can’t deny the immediate attraction they have for each other. Carson and Lillian fall deeply and passionately in love. Unfortunately, their happily ever after doesn't come without a severe price tag for Lillian. Carson drags her into his dangerous world of immense wealth and deceit. Lillian is the remedy for his broken heart, so he refuses to let her go at any cost. With endless tears and turmoil, she accepts to endure them all because Carson is the only man she’s ever loved. They promise to stay forever true from the beginning to the end.

Jamie says…

Carson and Lillian- "There's something about you Miss Ly, something that tells me I need you in my life.  I want to know every little detail about you.  What makes you happy because I'd do it over and over again just to see your beautiful smile or what makes you shy away because it's so damn cute when you do it."  I gasp, hearing the sincerity in his gentle voice.  It's enough to make me blush from head to toe.  "I especially want to know what makes you bite your nails or lower lip because it's incredibly sexy"  Fight the temptation, I encourage myself.

Beginning with Forever was a great read! I would give it a 4 star.  I would have probably given this book a 5 star if not for the cliffy that this story ended with.  This is almost and insta-love story but has more depth to it.  I really enjoyed all the characters in this book and the story is told in multiple POV's.  You will feel the love the 2 main characters have for each other immensely, the sex scenes are off the charts HOT!  But the tragedy that will engulf you towards the end of this story tore me up inside.  You will have many emotions while reading this story but even though its a cliffy you would have still wanted more from this story it was written that well.

Lillian is 22 year old medical student who always loathed rich people because of the stories she heard of her father that she never met, she made a vow to herself to never had a love for a man because in the end he would only destroy her. So she worked extra hard in school and never let anything get in her way especially dating. When she is accepted into an accelerated medical school program on an island far away from civilization she figured it would be perfect since she only wanted to focus on school and getting her degree.  She never imagined her life turning upside down after a man washes up on the very beach she is on.  Will she be able to remain professional or will her emotions towards this stranger her make her change her whole view on love?  Will she give up all of her hard work and focus for a man?  Or will pasts and tragedy make it impossible for her dreams of being a doctor and fall in love fall into pieces?

His touch stirs all my senses and confirms my attraction for him is real.  Our hands remain together longer than a customary handshake, so I remove mine before my odd attraction to him exposes me.  The tingling sensation from our single touch still lingers on my hand like a burn after touching something really hot.

Is it possible for Carson to feel as deeply about me as I do of him even though it's just been days?  I've never been a believer in love at first sight--never.  It's completely absurd and impossible in my book.  God knows I only have my heart set on one thing, and it has nothing to do with falling in love.  We he be the one to prove me wrong?

Carson is a 32 year old multi-millionaire play boy.  He always gets what he wants because he has the money and the power, well that's what he wants everyone to perceive him as.

I have a stringent rule of never bringing women I date or have casual sex with to my place.  Giving them false hope of wanting more than just empty sex with my isn't my game.  I don't like toying with anyone's emotions, so I'm quite frank or blunt with the women I date. 'No Commitment'  is the very first thing that rolls smoothly off of my tongue.  It'll never happen.  If they're okay with that, then we press forward with lots of hot sex, occasional dinners and lavish gifts for their time spent with me.  This kind of arrangement has suited me well for years.  They get what they want, and I get what I want---without the strings attached.  It's a win- win situation for everyone.

He has a dark past when he lost the only woman he ever truly loved to cancer.

It was impossible for me to replace Emily.  No one could ever measure up to her, and I made sure they didn't.  I was afraid I would forget her if I allowed someone else into my life.

He has made it his mission in life to find a cure and by doing so he has a built a huge empire pharmaceutical company.  He makes a decision to marry a woman only because he is mother begged him too and he would do anything to make her happy.  But fate has a way of intervening when he airplane that was taking him to his so called wedding crashes into the ocean.  He never thought in a million years that being washed up on island that he would find the love of his life, he thought his live was over when that plane went down.  But now he see's things in a different light, he has to have her and he isn't sure why his connection goes so deep so quickly.  Will he be able to handle his past demons and make a life with Lillian or will tragedy and deception strike and tear everything apart?

I have to get a grip on myself.  This bothers the hell out of me, not having control.  How is it possible for me to be so drawn to this young woman?  We've only met just a few minutes ago, and we haven't even said a single word to each other.  Why does she stand out like a rare pearl in a vast ocean?  What's making me feel this way?  I haven't had this tug in my chest for years.

I look forward to so much more from this author, I can't wait for the sequel so I can see how there love story continues and how they pick up all there broken pieces and put them back together.

He rips my panties off. The crisp, echoing sound of torn lace makes me even hotter. “Not good enough. Promise me, Lil.” His voice is more demanding and authoritative. Am I finally seeing and hearing the real Carson? He drops down to his knees to place his head between my thighs, gently spreading them apart. Oh god, I feel his pounding tongue, taunting and coercing me to tell him what he wants to hear. He’s too good at this. I’m not a worthy opponent against his seduction.

“Uh…uh…yes, I promise,” I pant as his velvet tongue glides inside my pulsing walls, tasting the sweet result of his doing. Without any warning, I hear a soft buzzing sound and then vibrating sensation sends my entire body into an explosive volcanic eruption. “Uh…uh…Carson, oh my god!” I moan and then clench my jaw, trying to hang on to my dignity. I find myself gripping the sheets tighter and then my fingers find their way through his thick, dark hair, pulling him closer to me with my bound wrists.”

Over a long year ago, I picked up a pen and wrote the first sentence of a fantasy that I’ve imagined ever since I was a daydreaming little girl—minus the steamy parts of course. That initial sentence was the seed that grew into my flowering romance book, “Beginning with Forever.” With all my heart, I wrote, rewrote, edited, re-edited and now, I’m finally ready to share it with all of you. My one and only aspiration for this book is to have readers embrace my story and characters with their heart. If I can make someone laugh till their gut hurts, hate with vengeance, cry till their eyes dry out, fall in love all over again, drool over the hero or feel any other emotions, than I’ve succeeded my goal.
I’m the sappiest person in the world when it comes to romance. Don’t laugh! I believe in love at first sight, Prince Charming or Mr. Hot Billionaire in my book, and happy endings. In my heart, every women deserves all three, and they will when they lose themselves in my books. Your fantasy can become your reality with just the flip of a page, so come join me.

Lesley says

Picture Perfect (Limelight #2) by Elisabeth Grace is an amazing 5 star read! It can be read as a standalone (yay! no cliffhanger!) even though it is the 2nd book in a series. The story is told in the POV of both characters - Landon and Skye. Landon is a hot, rich playboy and Skye is his newly hired assistant. They have an immediate attraction that they have a hard time resisting. But as we all know...romances can't be easy so we have to toss in a crazy ex-boyfriend, a scheming one night stand, and secrets that could ruin everything. It was hot and sweet and I loved it! Elisabeth Grace has a way with creating stories that you fall into and feel as if you are experiencing everything right along with the characters.

"The air left my lungs as his gaze traveled over my chest and stayed there for just a second longer than it should have. God, what I wouldn't give for his gaze to be his hands and to feel them on my bare skin. Mind, meet gutter. Nice to meet you, gutter. I have a feeling we'll see each other often."
