Stud Season Comes To A Halt In This Sexy-Clean Romp Around The Farm

A positive play on diversity in the midst of the country’s racial unrest.

A bad boy trying to do better, versus a good girl who isn’t, sets the scene for a captivating read you won’t want to put down.

Holden’s desire knew no limits. Holden’s family respected no boundaries. Not to worry, Cherry can fix that. Cherry can fix anything…except herself.

Being in love with Holden, one of the notorious Latche twins, has freed Cherry from her ghosts. Now, she wants to help everyone -with or without their consent. Her unyielding opinions influence every relationship on the Latche family farm. While her involvement may not always be welcome, at least her intentions are pure.

And that’s a problem.

Purity doesn’t work for Holden. Abstinence is not a part of his womanizing agenda. Besides, Cherry has two secrets too many as far as he is concerned. The lack of information about her family, and her intimate exchanges with Eric– the other notorious Latche twin.
“…twists and turns you’d expect in a traditionally-written romance.” – Susan Ward, author of The Girl on The Half Shell

Snippet 1:

“Now, why would anybody want to tame a Latche?” A tall thin girl with shiny brown hair and eyes that reminded Cherry of something came in. “Cherry, Right? The boys were concerned about you being harassed. Low and behold, you are.” She turned on the others. “Quit antagonizing. The economy sucks. War is hell. My radiator overheated and I didn’t get the item I wanted off of eBay. In the scheme of things, the fact that you’re not positive which twin you slept with is not relevant to those of us who are smarter than that. In other words, get over it.”

“This doesn’t have anything to do with you, Amy.”

“Sure it does.” Amy dismissed them. “A real word to the wise, Cherry.  Women scorned are a pain in the ass. Ignore them.”

Snippet 2:

“You can’t stay away from me. I’m your best friend.”

“You’re my b~”

“The best friend you have in West Virginia.”

“So far. You also happen to be the only friend I have in West Virginia.”

“That makes me the best. Come on down. I’ll buy you some ice cream.”

“What is wrong with me?” Cherry came away from the window. “I’m allowing myself to be bribed with ice cream. I know better than this.” She stuck her feet into her flip flops and grabbed her room key.

He chuckled with her, feeling victorious. “You won’t be sorry.”

“Who are we fooling? You are trouble and this is a mistake. I’m already sorry.” And I’m closing the door behind me.

“I only have your best interest at heart.”

“And where do you have my worst interest?”

“It’s a secret. But if you want to search me, I won’t stop you.”

Snippet 3:

“What exactly is the holdup?”

“She’s a virgin.”

“You have the cure.”

“She’s not aware it’s an illness.”

“Enlighten her.”

Snippet 4:

“I don’t know what he knew. I don’t care. Bruce is going to be permanent.”

“It hasn’t been a full week yet. Married?”

“I know. Missy is an idiot and we have to buy her presents for it.”

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: UNWRITTEN BY LAUREN RUNOW

We're celebrating the release of UNWRITTEN by Lauren Runow! Check out the excerpt and giveaway below!

Title: Unwritten by Lauren Runow
Age Group: Adult
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Cover Artist: Dallin Stuber

Cover Designer: BEL Designs
Release Date: September 15, 2015

Book Description
Charlie Ashley, or Mr. Ashley as his clients know him, is a high-end male escort who gets paid thousands for whatever services his clients require. He’s lived the last ten years alone, not letting anyone in, enjoying his success and provocative lifestyle.

Allison Hayes has no idea the man she is falling in love with is a male escort. She connects with Charlie through their love of music, playing a taunting game asking herself if she loves him, hates him or if she is going to save him.

After meeting Allison, Charlie enters a world where everything he knows no longer makes sense, leaving him too scared to move forward, yet making it impossible to look back. But can he give up his entire life for love?

EXCERPT:

“Can I call you tomorrow?”

“I’d love that,” she replies with a smile on her face. She looks out the window then back to me and asks, “Do you want to come in?”

“Do you want me to come in?” I quickly respond.

She must be remembering our playful game from the coffee shop because she states, very matter-of-factly, “If I’m going to either love you, hate you or save you, I think I need more time to figure it out,” and smiles sweetly at me.

I laugh, so ready to play along. “I like your due diligence. How could I argue with that?” I turn off the engine, unbuckle my seatbelt and we get out of the car, walking her up to the door.

She opens the door and there is a long staircase leading up to the second floor. Allison’s place is an old San Francisco style home with old wooden floors and thick white frame doors. It’s modern in its updates but I can tell that special attention has been made on keeping the originality of the building.

The hallway is narrow and leads into a small living room painted blue with white trim and brown leather couches. The kitchen is off the living room and Allison walks into it placing her purse on the counter.

“Can I get you anything to drink?”

I’m still standing at the entrance of the living room, leaning against the wall. My heart starts to beat a little harder as I stare at her, completely lost in my own thoughts, realizing what’s really going on.

What am I doing here? I need to leave. Yes, I need to leave. I’m totally falling for this chick but it will never work. I know this. She will find out the truth and then hate me. I don’t want her to hate me. But fuck, I’ve never wanted someone like this. If I can just have her, right here, right now. Maybe that’s why I’m so nervous? I’ve never spent this much time with someone that I haven’t fucked already. No, I must leave. She’s not a client. Say goodbye and walk out the door.

Allison notices me standing there, not replying to her drink offer, and asks, “Penny for your thoughts?”

Oh fuck it.
I walk toward her with authority, my mind is made up and there’s nothing going to stop me from kissing her.

I hold my hands up to her face, sliding my fingers through her hair as I lean in to wrap my lips around hers. Passion rips from my lips and overcomes her as she kisses me back.

Slightly moaning from my touch, she melts in my hands. I know she feels this, too. I’m not sure what it is but I know I’ve never felt it before and it’s fucking unreal.

Pulling her closer, I start to push my growing erection into her body, holding her even closer as my tongue entangles with hers in an amazing tango of desire, want and need.

Barely able to breathe, I pull away from her. The feelings just got too intense. I didn’t know what was going on but when I started to run my hands from her ass to her breast, I got completely freaked out. I’ve never been so scared in my life.

I take a shaky breath in and look her in the eyes, barely making out the words, “I’m sorry…” and turn around, running down the stairs, leaving her standing in her kitchen alone.

Blurb:

All Den of Sin books can be read as standalones.

Sabine Beaudelaire returns to her hometown of New Orleans to the bedside of her favorite uncle, Sebastian Beaudelaire, who's been in a horrific accident and lies comatose at a local hospital. Estranged for six months from her fiancé of eight years, she still hopes for reconciliation. Enter a gorgeous man she affectionately dubs "Hot IT Guy", whose sex appeal--and open season at her family's secret sex lair--fills her head with thoughts of propositioning a man for the first time.

When it becomes apparent she's lost the love of her life to a more accommodating woman poised to give him everything he desires, Sabine's hopes are shattered. With career benchmarks looming, Sabine is fulfilled by her work but lacking a love to call her own, a situation which Hot IT Guy, aka Xander "Fish" Fishbourne is eager to remedy.

Is it by coincidence or by design that Xander, her protective older brother's high school friend who once admired her from afar, becomes her guest at the Den of Sin? Who cares? Her dormant libido needs a serious kickstart since she and her fiancé called it quits. But will this weekend of sexual freedom rekindle an old flame, or will it further complicate her already complicated life?

Rekindling the Flame is a second chance romance bringing an alpha hero back together with a woman he wanted before any other, and a heroine whose dominating older brothers shielded her from every man's advances. Now, it's The Beaudelaire Big Easy Luau, a Den of Sin event where long held fantasies are made to be acted upon.

Excerpt, Chapter 3

“Xander?” she whispered. She looked into his placid face, beset with gorgeous luminous eyes.

“Are you okay?” he whispered back. His smile was full of invitation and happiness. And was that desire she saw there as well? Surely they’d shorted out all circuits during that intense experience, as he’d promised, but she felt the stirrings of renewed desire pinging between her thighs. So could he not feel the same?

Sabine leaned in and kissed him, tasting the seafood, a hint of garlic from the salad, and the crisp white wine they’d both consumed. Beneath that feeling was the undertone of something powerful. “You feel that?”

He nodded.

“That is why I couldn’t resist inviting you to participate in this weekend with me.”

“And that is exactly why I hoped you would,” he responded.

“Xander, in case we never get to do this again, let’s make this weekend worth it, okay?” Her voice grew husky as she finished saying it, and something twisted in her chest.

He kissed her gently, then took her hand and led her back to the bed. “Dessert can wait. Let’s get back to making this memorable weekend,” he said. Then he proceeded to do exactly that for her.

Excerpt, Chapter 4

“It is kind of hot hearing you say it. Nicholas wouldn’t have been caught dead saying that word,” she said, even as she cringed.

“Nicholas the former fiancé?”

“Yes. I’m sorry. Now is not a very appropriate time to talk about him.”

Xander nudged her chin so she would look into his eyes. “Anytime you need to talk, I’m here. Okay?”

“Okay.” She barely paused before continuing on a sigh. “Nicholas was one of my professors when we met. Brilliant, extraordinarily caring. He helped me figure out exactly what I wanted to do with my career. Too bad that didn’t also translate with my life.”

“You may not think so now, but I believe you will eventually figure out how to navigate life’s milestones without anyone else telling you how to do it.”

“But there has to be some give and take as you move together in the general direction of married life, right?”

“Who are you asking? I didn’t do it right the first time, remember.” He tucked her unruly hair behind one ear.

“That’s a cop-out. I distinctly recall you broaching the c-word.”

“C-word? I don’t call women bad names.”

“Not that c-word, you dope. Compromise.”

Xander laughed. “But you notice I’ve managed to resist entanglements since that failed attempt.”

She side-eyed him playfully. “Not for lack of strange women—myself included—throwing themselves at you, I’m sure.”

“I’m alone half by necessity and half by choice.”

“How’s that?”

“I work so much I don’t have a lot of time for dating. And my ex was a piece of work, so I’ve been in no particular hurry to figure out if the first time was just a fluke.”

“I hope I can be as flippant about Nicholas in a few years.”

“You mentioned he was older. Would that be my age older, or...ancient?”

It was her turn to laugh. “Just a decade, or what one considers about a year shy of a classic May/December romance.”

“Or, a decade shy of being a dirty old man.” Xander swooped in and nibbled her bottom lip. Sabine straddled him. The heat of her core igniting renewed desire in his loins.

“I think I’d rather do something else, other than talking about aging and bitchy exes now,” she said.

Bio:

Growing up, L.V. Lewis wanted to be an internationally known rock star, but unfortunately, lived in the wrong part of the country to pursue that career (and neither American Idol nor The Voice were available then). An early love for the written word gave her the plan B she sought. Her career as a contract manager was not creative writing by a long shot, but it didn't require her to spend the hundreds of thousands of dollars required for a law degree. It does pay the bills while she dabbles in the publishing world as an author on the evenings and weekends.

LV lives in Florida with her husband. They are the parents of four children, three of whom don't think they need their parents anymore, so they share their home with a sweet female German Shepherd and an alpha male Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix who thinks he rules the world.
Her love for writing is only eclipsed by her love for her family.

Shannon’s 5 Star Review:

Truth in Watercolors  by Kimberly Rose
5 Luminous Stars

I was a lucky enough to be able to beta read Truth in Watercolors for Kimberly.  I absolutely adored her debut novel, Truth in Wildflowers, and just took it upon myself to insert myself into her life.
Watercolors should be read after Truth in Wildflowers as this book focuses on Wes, August's best friend, and Capri, August's sister. I loved Wes when we first met him and low and behold he stole my heart right away from August.

Wes is the hilarious, tatted up, charm-the-panties off you funny guy; he didn’t have the best childhood growing up but he didn’t have the worst either.  He had Blue and Blue loved that boy as if he was his own.  There was nothing Wes wouldn’t do for him. Wes, though, does like to keep his feelings to himself. He and August have always been close and while growing up he had a slight interest in his best friend’s sister but when they grow up and are working on a project tighter, Wes just may not be able to keep his feelings hidden much longer.
Capri is quiet, beautiful, and likes to fade into the background of life.  She doesn’t like to be noticed or to be the center of attention.  She, too, likes to keep her feelings to herself but she does have a release.  She paints, she paints beautiful pictures and quite a few of them are of her brother’s best friend, Wes. She has some secrets that don’t make their way to the canvas but eventually by working with Wes she’s able to bring them to light.

While they’re working together Capri is no longer able to blend into the background.  No longer able to be “white” she begins to come out of her shell and allow her true colors to shine.  Wes watches her grow and he thinks that maybe they can be what each other needs. But will Wes finally see that he’s capable of the love that Capri offers or will he just push her away as fast as he can?  Capri knows Wes is worth more than he’s given himself credit for and she just wants to be the one to show him how beautifully worthy of love he is.  Can she make him believe? Will he learn to love himself as much as he loves her? You will definitely want to read this series and see what all the beautiful is about.

I adore Kimberly and her writing.  She makes you feel every word she puts down on paper.  In this book you will see all the colors of the rainbow and you will feel them, as well.  She has a beautiful way of writing and you fall deep into her books.  I hope you take the time to read both books in the series.  They’re different, they’re real, the feelings are tangible, and the love is pure.  When you read this book I hope you feel like I do, Kimberly Rose is the epitome of the saying “the world is but a canvas to our imagination”.  I’m so thankful she shares her imagination with us.  I am impatiently awaiting Lennon’s story, I can’t wait to see what her Truth’s are.

EXCERPT:

The porch light flicked on. I tapped the steering wheel with my hands. Then the door creeped open slowly. A ray of light slipped through the crack, and then illuminated the figure in the doorway, like an angel.

With one step, the figure emerged from the light. Oh, fuck. I ducked under the dash. When did he get home? I clenched my eyes shut willing him to go back into the house. A few seconds passed, and then a solid knock hit my window.

I groaned and peeked up. Mr. Hunter stood with his arms crossed over his chest. I sighed and rolled down my window.

“Weston.”

“Mr. Hunter.”

“It’s Steve, Wes. I assume you are here looking for my daughter.”

“Yes, Mr. Hunter.” I nodded and sat up a little straighter.

He sighed. “When did you decide to start calling me Mr. Hunter?”

“Since I started having impure thoughts about your daughter,” I blurted out.

He didn’t say anything.

I didn’t say anything.

Crickets didn’t say anything. Say something, crickets!

“So, I’m guessing she’s not home?” I asked manning up to the crickets.

“No, Wes. She’s at August’s house watching a movie with Kensie.”

“Thank you, Mr. Hunter.” I nodded. “I’ll try there.” I reached down to crank my window up when his hand slammed onto the glass, holding it in place.

“And Wes? You’re like a son to me, but you break my baby girl’s heart and I’ll break those pretty, colorful arms. We clear?”

I nodded. “Yes, sir,” I agreed, and he dropped his hand from the glass. I rolled that window up as fast as I could and peaced out of that driveway. Mr. Hunter was clearly going to be a tough sell. I’d have to send him a fruit basket or something.

SARAH'S REVIEW: FAIR GAME BY MONICA MURPHY

You are going to LOVE this new series by Monica Murphy! We're celebrating the release of FAIR GAME! Join us in the fun!

Title: Fair Game

Blurbs (subject to change):
FAIR GAME (The Rules Series, Book 1) May 12, 2015
Bad enough Jade Frost's boyfriend drags her to a boring poker game. Even worse that he actually threw her into the betting pot during an intense round...and lost. Talk about the perfect excuse for Jade to make him her ex-boyfriend.

Now she supposedly belongs to the ultra rich, extremely gorgeous Shep Prescott. He could have anything he wants yet he seems to be in hot pursuit of her. No matter how rude, how snarky, how impossible she acts, it doesn't stop him. More like her horrible behavior seems to make him want her more.

When she finds herself starting to fall for him, Jade's confused. There's more to Shep than the carefree rich charmer he portrays. No way could he want a serious relationship with her...or could he?

Sarah’s 4.5 Star Review:

I really enjoyed Fair Game by Monica Murphy. This is the first book in a new series from Monica and can be read as a standalone. Two more books are yet to come in The Rules series and I can't wait to read those as well.

Jade Frost is a college student who attends a poker game at an illegal gambling house with her boyfriend Joel. The house is owned by a young rich man whore named Shepard Preston whom Jade hates. When Jades' boyfriend is almost out of money Shep makes him an offer that he can't refuse. He bets on Jade because he thinks he has an unbeatable hand but he doesn't and he ends up losing Jade for good. Jade is beyond pissed and she lets Shep know that there is no way she is going to comply with the deal. What she doesn't know is that Shep is used to always getting what he wants and he will stop at nothing to make Jade his. Jade tries to ignore Shep but he is very persistent so she finally agrees to go on a date with him. She soon realizes that Shep isn't the guy that everyone makes him out to be. The more time she spends with him the stronger her feeling for him get. Will Jade continue to fight her feelings for Shep or will she decide to give a relationship with him a try?

"He touches me and I melt. And when he kisses me? Oh good lord, all of my very logical, very smart brain cells evaporate into thin air and I am left wanting more."

Shep is a 21 year old college student who has more money than he knows what to do with. He is a one and done type of guy when it comes to women until he meets Jade.  He has never been interested in a relationship but there is something different about Jade and he wants to get to know her better. The more time he spends with Jade the stronger his feeling for her get. Will Shep continue to fight his feelings for Jade because of the bad example of love that his parents portray or will he decide that Jade is worth taking a chance at love on?

"There's something about this girl that I think.. might be worth waiting for."

I loved the chemistry between Jade and Shep. I loved that Monica wrote this book in a dual POV so that we could get both sides of the story. The secondary characters added lots of depth to the storyline. I do wish we would have gotten to know a little bit more about how these two dealt with the issues with their parents. I am hoping we see more of these two in the other books in this series.

The series continues!
