Unforeseen Heartbeat is the second book by Maureen Mayer in the Second Chance Series. I just love this series and especially this book, if I could give this book 6 out of 5 stars I would.

This is Maddie Harrington's story.

We meet Maddie who is broken because of events that happened in her past. She believes she is unworthy of love and doesn't do relationships. She feels that no man wants her for more than sex, all because of events that happen when's she was sixteen and drunk.

That changes when a grey eyed, chestnut haired and sexy as hell Hunter Bryant walks into her life.  He changes everything and make her change her mind about love.

She doesn't want to believe that Hunter is different to any other guy, slowly starts to believe he is different.

You will feel everything that Maddie feels, you will laugh and cry as you turn the pages. You feel feel every emotion from joy to fear and find yourself not wanting put this book down until you know what happens and how it ends.

   You will ask questions such as  "will Maddie forgive herself? Will Maddie open herself up to Hunter?  and will she finally except that someone can love her excess baggage and all, only for something to happen that makes her doubt herself and your back to square one.  You will start over and ask all these question again. 

This book can be sweet toucher but you will love every word you read because you just want Maddie to be happy and Hunter to be the hero.

You will love all the characters that share Maddie's  journey. They really are one big happy family and support each other through the good and bad times. Maddie's roommate is a hoot and so is his boyfriend.

This is a stand alone book but to truly understand Maddie's story you need to read book one Relingquishing Liberty.

Maureen Mayer has done a wonderful job in keeping you captivated to the very end and I personally look forward to what she writes next.
