Emery can certainly write a very detailed and descriptive story. She paints a picture with her words. You know exactly where her characters are and how they are feeling emotionally as well as physically.
To what lengths will you go to save your best friend from your own ex-boyfriend? Shelby has put her best friend in the hands of Victor – a criminal of the worst kind. Becca was mistakenly taken for Shelby. In the process of saving Becca, Shelby finds herself united with Hot Cop Chase. Chase has just being sworn in as an Officer tries to help Shelby and Becca.
The storyline does move with a quick pace. The trading off on their point of views gives a good characterization of both the hero and heroine. You get to know both of them through out the book. Add in some family members, disloyal officials and a few hot scenes you have a great story.
As a child, JC was fascinated by things that went bump in the night. As they say, some things never change. Now, as an adult, she divides her time between the sexy law men, mythical creatures, and kick-ass heroines that live inside her head and pursuing her bachelor's degree in English. JC is a San Francisco Bay Area native, but has also called both Texas and Louisiana home.
