BLOG TOUR AND 4.5 STAR REVIEW: IGNITE BY KELLY ELLIOTT

IGNITE – Release Day  - Nov 17, 2015

There were two things Emmit Lewis loved.

Racing cars and Adaline Morgan.

Time was stolen from the two young lovers and Emmit vowed never again would he allow anything to come between the two of them.

Blurred lines both on and off the track have Emmit being tested beyond his limits. Will he reach the checkered flag and ignite Adaline’s heart, or will he be black-flagged and lose everything he has ever dreamed of?

APRIL'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW:        I want to be an author like Kelly Elliott when I grow up. It doesn’t matter if she is writing about cowboys or hot Nascar drivers, somehow she always draws you into each book within just a few paragraphs with her magical words. She balances the perfect amount of raw emotion mixed with the passion, to not make it erotic. I love that! And Ignite, is just that type of book.

Ignite is a new series from Elliott. Written in a dual POV, it is centered around a newcomer on the Nascar circuit, who wants nothing more to be number 1 in the racing world and marry his lifelong love. Except, she has other dreams instead. Will she follow her own dreams, or push them aside to be with the one true love of her life?

Emmit grew up racing cars and with Adaline Morgan. First fell in love with her on the playground in Texas, and the love grew stronger as the years went on. And when he went on to win his first Nascar race, he knew it was then that was the perfect time to propose and make Addie his. What he didn’t count on was the word no. How and why? After that, Emmit went on a streak of sex, booze, and racing. Nothing mattered anymore.

Adaline wanted a life outside of being a traveling racers wife. She wanted to pursue her own hopes and dreams. Addie didn’t want to break Emmit’s heart, but she didn’t want regret and resentment later in life. Adaline never once stopped loving him. Never once replaced their love.

Three years pass by ‘til they see each other again. Will enough time have gone by to let the hurt go? Will their live still be there between them? Can they overcome life’s obstacles and careers to be together finally? Only time and patience with one another will tell.

This book was a suck you in from page one for me. I loved the dual pov, was really able to feel both characters emotions and love for one another. The cover fit the book very well. Anyone who loves Nascar and second chance romance stories, this is for you. I give this book 4.5 stars! I will be anxiously awaiting (and stalking for) book 2 in this series.

EXCERPT:

Excerpt One

Opening the door, I smiled. Adaline was standing there with an umbrella over her head as the rain came down steadily. “Hey. I had to ask which one was your bus. You’ve gotten a different one.”
My smile faded some as I nodded. “Yeah, well a lot of things are different now.”
Adaline’s face fell as she asked, “May I come in?”
“Um, yeah but Robert’s here and—”
Robert pushed past me and waved to Adaline. “Hey, Adaline! Great seeing you again. I’m headed back to the hauler, Emmit. See ya later.”
Slowly shaking my head, I shot daggers at my so-called best friend.
Lola barked and Adaline let out a gasp. “Oh, my gosh. There’s a dog!”
“Always were observant, Adaline.”
Adaline shot me a dirty look as she slowly nodded. “Well anyway, I’m sorry Robert ran off. I’ll let him know he can come back.”
Adaline turned and walked off as I squeezed my eyes shut and cursed under my breath. “Fuck!” I hissed through my teeth. Stepping out into the rain, I called for her. “Adaline, wait. I’m sorry, if you want to come in, you’re more than welcome to.”
Turning around slowly, Adaline raised an eyebrow. “Anyone else in there?”
didn’t even care I was getting wet. “Like who?” I asked with a confused look.
With a shrug, Adaline walked back over to me and started up the steps as I stepped back in and told Lola to sit. Adaline stepped into my bus and looked around as her eyes widened in surprise as she glanced back toward the bedroom. “Oh, I don’t know, Cookie maybe?”
Holy living hell. Adaline was jealous.
