SYNOPSIS:
Melanie Kincaid is a trust-fund baby with a knack for sassy comebacks and unnecessarily complicating her privileged life. So, of course she would have to fall in love with a man she can't have.
Jameson Hayes is a NYC firefighter for Manhattan’s oldest ladder company with big shoes to fill and a city to protect. He’s strong, sexy, and not looking for the complications Melanie brings. But he can't stay away from her either. The attraction between them is immediate and the pull between them is crazy powerful. But she's only home for the summer and long-distance relationships never work.
Unfortunately, Melanie’s beauty and smart mouth are a lethal combination and Jameson isn't the only Hayes who's interested. As if his brother isn't enough to compete with, now the city's most famous arsonist wants to claim her as his next prize. Jameson can't stand to watch Melanie get hurt and she can't seem to keep herself out of trouble.

Fall for Me is the first Ladder Company novel, a stand-alone companion series about New York's most elite firefighting family with hot alpha heroes, snarky heroines, and an arsonist hell-bent on destruction.

JESSICA'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW:

4.5 Blazing Stars!!!

If you love firefighter romances then you’ll love this. Fall For Me is the first book in the Ladder Company Series. The Ladder Company Series is a group of new adult standalone contemporary romances each about a different brother or sister in a family of 14 firefighters. Several of the Hayes siblings currently work at Ladder Company One together which also adds to the dynamic of the series. Told in dual narrative between the main guy and main girl it is sure to be a hit with fans of new adult contemporary romances.
“Lust at first sight is the absolute worst because it burns the hottest, lasts the shortest, and hurts the most.”
When Melanie Kincaid went to the charity event she never expected to run into the one man who sets her soul on fire but she can never have. The unexpected and interesting meeting of Jameson Hayes has Melanie appreciating the NYFD in more ways than one. The moment these two met changed them forever. When life keeps getting in the way, will these two be able to find their way to each other before it's too late?
“…but I want you to fall for me. I want to be what keeps you up at night and what puts a smile on your face in the morning.”
Falling For Me follows the story of Melanie and Jameson. Melanie comes from a privileged life, but could care less about her financial status. She loathes having to go to socialite benefits where the old money looks down at the new money. This particular benefit though seems to look up for Melanie. This is where she meets Jameson. When the two of them meet, their connection is instant. The only problem, Jameson has a girlfriend and wants to “be the good guy”. The two share a dance and nothing more. But, as time goes on, they can’t get each other out of their heads. And it doesn’t help that Melanie’s new bff is none other than Jameson’s sister. Fate just keeps throwing the two of them together…Jameson lives and breathes being a firefighter. It was what he was born to do. The last thing he needed in his life was Melanie. Melanie may only be home for the summer, but he’s having the hardest time staying away from her. Will Jameson ever open his eyes and see what is in front of him?
Mel is beyond great. I loved her as the main character of Fall for Me. She is a sweetheart, and freakin' hilarious. She is great, it is no wonder that the entire Hayes family is half way in love with her as soon as they meet her. She has a streak of crazy in her but it is the interesting kind of crazy, not the kill you in your sleep kind of crazy. Which makes her a perfect match for Jameson.
“Seriously though. Penises are weird. They’re all cylindrical and they have a mushroom head. Weird.”
He was SO dang stubborn, and it was killing me. Jameson – how can you just stare at the very thing you wanted the most and allow someone to step in without a fight? How can you stay with someone who doesn’t make you happy at all and who pulls such horrendous acts of disloyalty? Well, in fairness to him, he kept Melanie in the friendzone much to the chagrin of everyone. He tried not to cheat, he tried to be loyal. There was this one time, a slight slip, but not the total crossing the line and both felt horrible and guilty about it. And I thought everything was going to be smooth when he finally got his freedom, only to find out that danger and some insecurities where lurking around the corner.
“This is what my love looks like. Here, on this hill, waiting for my girl. For as many hours, as many days, as many years as it takes, I’m here. Even if you’ll never be ready for me, I’ll still be here, waiting for you.”
I almost could not put this book down it so good, I cannot wait to read about the rest of the Hayes clan and catch up with these two in future installments of this series. Go ahead and one click you will not be disappointed.

About the author:
As a child, JC was fascinated by things that went bump in the night. As they say, some things never change. Now, as an adult, she divides her time between the sexy law men, mythical creatures, and kick-ass heroines that live inside her head and pursuing her bachelor's degree in English. JC is a San Francisco Bay Area native, but has also called both Texas and Louisiana home. These days she rocks her flip flops year round in Northern California and can't imagine a climate more beautiful.

JC writes adult, new adult, and young adult fiction. She dabbles in many different genres including science fiction, horror, chick lit, and murder mysteries, yet she is most enthralled by supernatural stories-- and everything has at least a splash of romance.

1.)
“You don’t like it,” he says quietly. I don’t miss the disappointment in his voice. I could throw myself at him, wrap my arms around his neck, and never let go. I could climb him like he’s a goddamn tree and I’m a monkey in need of a banana. I could kiss him like my life depends on it— my heart certainly does— and I could regret never telling him any of this if I don’t say it right now. I could tell him every stupid fucking feeling I’m having, and how much this beautiful gold necklace means to me. I could do all of this, but at the end of it, he still wouldn’t be mine. He would still be my friend— assuming I didn’t scare him off— and if he let me do all of this he wouldn’t be the guy I think he is. He wouldn’t be the man I’ve built up in my head as being strong and courageous and worth every painful moment I spend away from him knowing he’s with her and every trying moment I spend with him knowing he’s not mine.

I let the silence hang between us, as uncomfortable as it is, and focus on breathing steadily so he doesn’t know everything that this stupid beautiful necklace means to me.

“I didn’t—,” he begins. I cut him off because after the long stretch of silence it’s all I can do not to lose my shit over a stupid beautiful necklace from a fucking asshole who I think I’m falling in love with.

“A wishbone?” I ask.

“It’s stupid,” he says and reaches for the box. I pull it away from him, cradling it to my chest. “They’re supposed to be symbolic or something. Like you wish on ‘em and… you wish for something you want.” He’s uncomfortable trying to explain it. I know the symbolism behind a wishbone, but I had to hear his explanation.

He wants me to have what I want.

I have everything I want except for one thing: him.
