5 muddy stars
So, in all honesty, I had no clue that this book
would draw me so far in I could actually see myself with this group of
characters. This book runs the gamut of emotions; from flirty and fun to dark
and brooding, from love and hope to heartbreak and tears. Ms. Franco did not shy away from tearing your
heart into for these people.
Alyssa is the new girl in a small Georgia town. She’s lived all over the place because her
mom won’t grow up and settle down. She’s starting at the new community college
soon and knows no one. Well, that’s
until two rambunctious hotties on 4 wheelers stop her in her tracks.
John Jackson, true southern boy full of wit, sex
appeal, and true alpha male lays eyes on the blonde haired blue eyed beauty
from Cali, he’s a goner. He knew it from
the first time she said “I don’t play in mud. I’m not an animal” They two step
around each other, flirt with each other, and continue to grow closer. With just a simple touch or a sexy smile from
Johnny she realized what he already knew – she wanted him more than she’s ever
wanted anyone else. The passion that
burned between them burned a hot white but what happens when tragedy strikes will
they be able to reignite that flame? Will they be able to rekindle their
relationship or has stupid mistakes made it unsalvageable?
As I said above, Ms. Franco likes to pull on your
heart strings. She takes us on a journey
of young love that is so strong and pure that you have to hope they’re able to
overcome their mistakes, that hopefully they’ll learn to live in the present
not in the past, and that no matter what obstacles are put in front of you, you
follow your heart and learn to let go.
The love in this book just takes my breath away, guys. There’s no two ways about it. I fell so hard for John and even Alyssa. They’re fun, young, beautiful, and in true
love. The supporting cast was without a
doubt some of the best I’ve read. I
honestly hope we are able to get more from this group of characters.
Do myself and yourself a favor; take a few days and read this
book. You deserve to read a book as
touching as this one. I promise, it’s
worth it; the pain, the happiness, it’s all worth it. You’ll see.
