The Half of Us is the first book I have ever read by Cardeno C. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be going back to read the rest of the books in the series. I loved the solid relationships and the strong family bond.
Jason Garcia is a hot-headed heart surgeon who thought he had his life all planned out. He had a beautiful wife, two children and a beautiful home. His constant cheating with men quickly put an end to his marriage. He is still very good friends with his ex wife but doesn't see much of his children He loves to go bar hopping and engage in one night stands. He has no interest in a long term relationship. One night after a very rough day at work Jason decides to go to a club to find his nightly hook up. He runs into a very attractive man who is at the club celebrating his birthday with some friends. The hot man decides to leave the club and Jason follows him out of the club and convinces the man to go spend one hot night with him.
Abe is a school teacher who has been looking for Mr. Right for many years. He has a hard time finding him as he prefers to stay at home and avoid the bar scene. While at a club celebrating his birthday with his friends he runs into a very attractive man who convinces him to engage in a hot one night stand. Abe is a relationship type of person but there is something about Jason that has him wanting to do whatever it takes to spend time with him.
There one night stand turns into multiple hookups and they both begin to realize there may be more to this "thing" they having going on with each other. Jason doesn't believe that two men can be happily married and raise a family together and this is all that Abe has ever wanted. Will Abe be able to convince Jason that together they can create a happy monogamous family home?
They do run into a few bumps along the way in regards to Jason's children. He isn't sure how his children will react to him having a relationship with a man. Jason's ex wife and Abe are able to convince Jason that his children will be happy to know that Jason has found someone to spend his life with. I was so happy to see the two MC's finally get their HEA after all they went through to get there.
