finding me finding you blog tour banner

Synopsis

Parker wasn’t always a bad boy. It wasn’t until his life seemed to lose meaning that things started spiraling out of control. Nothing mattered though, not without her around. That was until he met Maggie, the introverted beauty that had taken one too many verbal beatings.

Maggie wasn’t exactly shy, but she definitely wasn’t confident either. Until now she had been happy existing in her small world, but she was ready for a change. She vowed to make friends in college. Simple, right? Not quite. Maggie discovers she was in store for more than just friendship. Instead she finds a painful crush on an emotionally unavailable guy.

As Maggie and Parker each head down the path of self-discovery, they learn it isn’t always easy to keep the ones you love when you are becoming the person you want to be.

REVIEW:

3-3.5 Star Review

This is the first book I have ever read by Shealy James. The story was very slow paced and I found myself having to put it down and come back in order to finish it. The storyline was very good and the characters were well written but the story seemed to drag on forever. I wish we would have a look further into the future of Parker and Maggie.

Parker is a very sexy and determined college student who can't wait to move out of his father's home. He enjoys playing guitar with his band but his dad is constantly reminding him that school and soccer come first. He first meets Maggie when he is moving into his college dorm. He is attracted to her right away but is quickly scared away by her father, He definitely wants to get to know her and will do whatever it takes to spend time with her.

Maggie is very excited to be moving away from her controlling mother. She is going away to college with her best friend Max. She wants to be able to live her own life and make her own decisions in life. She first meets Parker when she is helping her best friend Max get settled in his dorm room. She has never really had a relationship because there are only certain people her mother thinks she should date and marry. Maggie and Parker become friends quickly and spend lots of time together. They both have issues to deal with in their lives and they eventually learn to lean on one another for support.

This story takes us through a four year journey of my ups and downs. It is story of a close friendship building into something more. Parker and Maggie both grow tremendously throughout the story and learn to let go of some of their issues. I loved the supporting characters in this story. I would love to read more about them in the future.
