Blog Tour: Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.

Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance—and the enchanting music that inspires one young woman to put her life back together.

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Slammed, Point of Retreat, Hopeless, This Girl, and Losing Hope, Maybe Someday is destined to become another bestseller and long-lasting fan favorite.

Includes a free original soundtrack by musician Griffin Peterson.

“Truths are written, never said.”

There are not enough stars in the sky to cover how many stars I want to rate Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover. I swear this woman cannot write a bad novel. It’s just not possible. Once again I was absolutely enamored by her characters and story and highly recommend everybody indulge in this literary gem.

“It’s not so easy when you’re trying to win a war against the heart.”

Sydney Blake has stability. She has a wonderful boyfriend and is living with her great friend, Tori. She is pursuing her dream of becoming a musician despite her parents’ wishes that she invest in law school.

“…we’re both attempting to get as much out of each other as we can before the moment ends. Because we both know it has to end.”
Everything is going smoothly until it suddenly isn’t. Homeless and broke, she finds refuge with her mysterious neighbor Ridge Lawson. They share a passion for music and through their mutual love they find that sometimes the cloudiest moments have silver linings.

“Nothing in my life has ever felt so good yet hurt so achingly bad.”

I refuse to give away the juicy plot details. This is a novel you’ll have to experience firsthand. I was absolutely consumed from the very first page until the very end. I could not put this book down. I laughed. I cried. I struggled. Every moment, even the hard ones, were absolutely delightful.

“I love her so damn much, and all I want right now is for her to know that, even if it doesn’t change anything.”
Colleen Hoover’s writing is breathtaking perfection. Perfection doesn’t even convey how phenomenal her words are. Maybe Someday is addictive, heartbreaking, heartwarming, and hands down one of the best novels I’ve ever read. You must experience this literary masterpiece for yourself. It will leave you speechless yet satisfied.

5 Stars

I love everything Colleen Hoover writes. She could write a phone book and I would drop everything I was doing to read it. That is exactly what I did as soon as I got my hands on Maybe Someday. I really enjoyed the way she incorporated music into the book. I have read other books with music linked to certain chapters but I have never read a book where the songs come to life in the book. The music that Griffin Peterson helped create is absolutely amazing and takes this book to a whole new level.

Sydney is a college student who is very in love with her boyfriend, works a steady job and lives with her best friend. She enjoys sitting on her balcony in the evening listening to her neighbor play his guitar. The two of them exchange a few text messages because Ridge is intrigued that she sings and there are no lyrics written for the song he plays. Sydney is completely devastated when she walks in and finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her with her roommate Tori. She runs out of  the apartment with only a few things and has no idea where she is going to go.

Ridge is the good looking neighbor who watches Sydney sing every night when he plays his guitar. He is suffering from a severe case of writers block so he asks Sydney to write lyrics to his songs and in exchange she can stay at his apartment until she figures out what she is going to do. The connection they have is immediate and only gets stronger the more time they spend with each other. Sydney tries to ignore her feeling for Ridge as she knows he has a girlfriend and she doesn't want to be the girl he cheats with because she knows all to well what it feels like to be cheated on.

“I know we shouldn't be putting ourselves into a situation we're only going to regret once it's over.”

"For her I bend, for you I break."

“How ever, I've learned that the heart can't be told when and who and how it should love. The heart does whatever the hell it wants to do. The only thing we can control is whether we give our lives and our minds the chance to catch up to our hearts.”

I love the connection between the Ridge and Sydney. There was a time I didn't like Ridge. I hated how he kept making Sydney feel like there could be something between them when he obviously had no intentions of letting Maggie go. I loved how Warren was always there for Ridge and also for Sydney when she needed someone. This is a story that proves sometimes you really have to follow what the heart wants. This book had many twists and turns and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I look forward to more books from Colleen!!

I'm addicted to diet pepsi and could tell you in a taste-test which restaurant it came from. It's a serious addiction, I tell you.

I get stoked whenever I get a message from goodreads saying I have a new friend request...so request me, dangit!
