To say I loved this book is an understatement. Not really
knowing what the book was about by the title I was hooked by the end of the
first chapter. Eva “Evangeline” Andrews is your typical mousy, plain quiet girl
who happens to be a lot stronger from within than she realizes. She lets the
past rule her present and she has had enough. Three men complicate her life:
her boss Mr. John Doe, a fellow colleague Nathan and her not so hired escort
Julian Harte. All of these men push Eva to find new strengths she didn’t know
she possessed.
It has been a while since a writer has been able to create
love (sex) scenes so well done. It has become quite gratuitous in recent works.
And yes I have been known to skip through some just to get back to story, but
let me tell you these scenes were so well done I didn’t want to overlook a
word. Some authors just have a talent ( I am sure it is hard work) for making
the reader feel as though we are living through the characters. Ms. Harris is
definitely one of these authors.
Can the story end at this point? NOOOOOOOO! There is a cliffhanger and I am so looking
forward to it. Unfortunately this book has just been released so I guess I have
a while to wait. Brooke Harris has earned a pot on my auto-buy list. Bravo well
done.

Brooke has too many of a lot of things; shoes, books, and kids. Luckily she loves them all to pieces. She never has too much wine, if you believe that.
Rules of Harte is her debut into the steamy stuff and she's currently working on the second book in the series.
