Blog Tour: Review of Take Two by Laurelin Paige

He’s ready for his close up, but she’s the one calling the shots.

On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.

Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And she’s one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another tryst…if he even remembers her.

Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad he’s sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likes—and oh, he does like—but anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesn’t stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.

But as the shoot nears its end, it’s decision time. Is it time to call, “Cut!” on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?

Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.

4 Star Review
Maddie Bauers is smart, driven, and extremely serious when it comes to her career, and success. Micah Preston, is just as driven and talented. Both are determined when it comes to accomplishing their dreams, even it that means sacrificing everything. Micah wants to become a huge movie star and Maddie wants to direct her own films. They first meet at a party that Maddie attends with her friend Bree to celebrate her college graduation. They exchange numbers with a promise that Micha will contact her the next day but he never does.
Seven years later Maddie gets a call from her friend Bree to fill in as a camera assistant on a film. When she gets off the plane she runs into Micha and soon realizes he is the actor in the movie she is helping on. They both feel the instant chemistry between them but try to deny it. Micha believes that all women want from him is his money and Maddie believes that Micha is just a big player and doesn't want to be another notch on his bed post.
Will their fears and insecurities keep them apart or will they be able to overcome them and have a solid relationship.
This is a very light, sexy but sometimes frustrating read. Micha and Maddie are both very strong characters that know what they want out of life. They have good chemistry and a witty rapport. I enjoyed the dual point of view and the story flowed very well. I really enjoyed the book other than I felt that it just ended. I wish there would have been an epilogue to finish out their story. This was my first book by Laurelin Paige and I look forward to reading more of her work.

NY Times & USA Today Bestselling author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine. She is represented by Bob Diforio of D4EO Literary Agency.
