Blog Tour: Past Imperfect by Alison G. Bailey

In Present Perfect, Brad Johnson was sexy, cocky, rich and a complete Smurff**ker. He could afford anything he wanted and could charm any girl he set his eyes on. Everything was laid out in front of him, all for the taking except the one thing he craved and needed. A tragic event forces him to reevaluate his life. When he tries to change, will the people in his life let him move on from his past or will they constantly hold him to the life altering mistakes he’s made?

Mabry Darnell is intelligent, ambitious, beautiful, and sassy. Secrets from her past haunt the present causing her to question her actions in order to shield her heart and protect her life.

From the moment Brad and Mabry met, their connection was strong, intense, and electrifying. Both knew they had found the one person who could satisfy what the other ached for. When their pasts collide with their present, will it prevent them from having a future together or will love be strong enough to conquer their demons?

Elle says…

Past Imperfect by Alison G. Bailey is a heartbreaking story about overcoming regrets of the past and gaining redemption in the present. This novel is utter perfection from start to finish and one of the best books of 2014.

I loathed Brad Johnson in Present Perfect. In my opinion, there wasn’t a redeemable quality in his character and I wanted him to eat mauled by a pack of tigers. My hate for Brad made me incredibly hesitant to read his story because I couldn’t see how Alison Bailey was going to write this villain into a hero I’d root for. I can’t pinpoint the exact moment in the story that my thoughts on Brad changed, but to my absolute shock, I managed to fall head over heels in love with the guy. His actions in the past have left him with guilt, but when he finds the girl worth fighting for, he doesn’t hold back and risks it all to win her forever.

Mabry Darnell I loved from the moment she was introduced. She has such strength and drive, but underneath her sass and charm is a past built upon tragedy and heartache. Her coping mechanism is unique and unlike anything I’ve read before. I want to thank Alison for choosing this character flaw instead of going with another, more cliché behavior. To me that set this character apart from every other damaged female I’ve read. Mabry will stay in my mind long after I finished her story.

As I said before, this story is fantastic. I loved Present Perfect, but I truly believe Past Imperfect is Alison G. Bailey’s best novel to date. The story and characters were addicting and I was instantaneously sucked into the story and couldn’t let go. There’s such beauty and elegance in Alison’s words and story. I strongly urge you to invest an afternoon reading both Present Perfect and Past Imperfect. Get sucked into the emotional roller coaster today!

Oh Brad.....I kind of hated you in Present Perfect. You were the biggest douchebag and deserved everything you had coming to you.

BUT

Holy hell did you redeem yourself and now I love you hard.

Alison G. Bailey did an amazing job with Brad and Mabry, I felt their loss, their grief, their pain and their connection to be together.

Brad has been dealt a shitty life up till now, mostly because of choices that were made by him. He chose a path and that path lead him to his forever.

Mabry has pain that not many can feel for her. She may seem strong and determined on the outside, but on the inside she is struggling a battle that only one person can conquer.

I love everything about this story and was so pleased with how the author took us for a ride in the present and the past.
