Blog Tour: Review of It's Not Over by A.L. Zaun

He wanted her to help him win his ex-girlfriend back. She wanted to teach him a few lessons on how to treat a woman. Neither one planned for the unexpected.

She’s gone. I’m desperate and going insane. I’ll do whatever it takes to find her. I don’t know when I fell for her, but I won’t let her go. What has she done to me? I’m Rick Marin, for crying out loud. I don’t chase women…but she’s not just any woman. She’s Maddy—my Maddy—and I need her.

I couldn’t stand by and watch. I have to run fast and far to get away and forget him. He weaseled his way into my life, making me question rules I live by, and he turned my orderly life upside down. I’m falling apart and coming undone. I don’t do that. I will not allow a man to derail me. I’m Madison Stuart. I live life by my rules.

Follow The Do Over’s most notorious couple, Rick and Madison, as they learn that It’s Not Over.

It’s Not Over is the sophomore novel from A.L. Zaun and the next installment in The Do Over Series. If you haven’t read the first book, The Do Over, you must do that first otherwise you’ll be lost.

Like most of the female population, I hate Rick Marin. He was a mega douche in The Do Over and I secretly wished for a plot twist where he was mauled by a pack of lions the entire time I was reading that book. As much as I cringe while I type this, I have to admit…I was wrong. After reading It’s Not Over, Rick Marin has redeemed himself and isn’t a half bad guy. Is he still arrogant and bossy and always needing to get his way? Yes. At the same time he is also supportive and caring and does whatever he can to protect the ones he loves.

The same goes for Madison Stuart. She’s stubborn and fierce and isn’t afraid to rip someone to shreds in a snap. There is also a side of her that is vulnerable and broken and just wants to feel loved and accepted. I really loved her character in this story. She was full of sass and attitude yet haunted by her past choices.

From start to finish this story is truly enjoyable. I loved the dynamic between Rick and Madison and found their playful connection to be heartwarming and fun. A.L. Zaun introduced me to new villains and reunited me with characters I met in first book. It wasn’t hard to redirect my old hatred for Rick to a few of the characters in It’s Not Over. There’s plenty of drama and an abundance of scorching hot sex scenes, so you won’t be left dissatisfied. I will warn you that the story does end in a cliffhanger that will leave you dying for the next book in The Do Over Series. I wanted to throw a tantrum when I realized I had reached the ‘to be continued’ end, but overall this book was definitely worth my time.

A.L. Zaun graduated from Florida International University with a degree in English Literature when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and cellphones were the size of a brick. Her impressive degree did absolutely nothing for her professional endeavors in health care management but did stir her imagination and opened up the world of books in a new way.

Armed with a large bottle of Diet Pepsi and a multi-pack of Extra Sugar-Free gum, A.L. Zaun spends her evenings bringing to life the characters that dominate her thoughts and interrupt her sleep.
