Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that both bind them together and tear them apart.

Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she's built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.

Landen’s more than ready to tear down those walls but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her.

4 Beautifully Broken Stars!!!

Caisey Quinn is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! Keep Me Still sucked me in from the beginning and I could not put it down!! I connected with Layla on such a personal level and was shocked that I could actually feel the emotions as I read through the book!! Everyone has secrets.. Some darker than others.. Will Landon be able to tear through her walls and prove to her she is worth loving!?

"We both have secrets... Wonder if they'll bind us together or tear us apart?"

I have literally been in that same situation and asked myself that same question.. The story of Layla and Landon is a special one that has touched me more than most books I have read!! In her attempt to protect Landon from herself, she doesn't realize she is letting her wall down little by little..

Keep Me Still is such a raw, superbly written story about two Beautifully Broken people who may just be able to heal each other!! I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!

4 1/2 cherry bursting stars!

This is the first book I've  read by author Caisey Quinn. Keep Me Still is a poignant story about hope, forgiveness and dedication.
Layla is seeking a fresh start at Southern California State University. Losing her parents and her medical condition has made life sort of lonely and isolating for her. Their was one person that brightened Layla's world and showed her that she needed to step out of her comfort zone. But he's a part of her past. He let her down. He shattered her heart!

Check out Caisey Quinn's Novella -Hold Us Close for more on that.

Layla has a condition that she wants to keep a secret because it was a hindrance  in Hope Springs, Georgia. Her classmates didn't sympathize or treat her well at all. It broke my heart how she felt the need to keep her   past a secret in order to feel normal and accepted.
Layla  carefully continues to guard her families tragedy and her health condition in college. She barely confides in her new roommate Corin.  Again I felt bad for her, it would  be exhausting holding all that in all the time. But I understood why. I'm glad she finally let Corin in. Corin was a strong supporting character with an edgy personality and a good voice of reason for Layla.

FYI the attractive and swoon worthy male lead will capture your heart from the get go. Landen O' Brien persues one of his dreams playing soccer while he seeks a possible fresh start with Layla. Just when you think she needs him to keep her STILL you realize that Landen has demons that still need to be exorcised of his own. He's on a destructive path.  He is a product of a mean spirited father. He's covered up his complicated past but it has left him with internal scars and one HOT temper. I felt so bad for Landen. He's a wounded soul that has so much potential. Too bad he can't control his actions easier. He goes from zero to one eighty in a blink when mad. His parents have FUCKED him over.. What a shame.. Landen clearly needs help!!
"But something uncontrollable that thirsted for pain and destruction-obliterated everything good in my life."

Layla and Landen's story twisted me up in knots. Had me turning the pages fast and furiously. I was anxious the entire time.

"She gave me the strength to forgive. Kept me still when I was weak and stupid, when I lost my temper, when I got scared and ran and nearly made the biggest mistake of my life."

Quinn sucked me in with her beautiful  but painful story. Her writing simply flowed. It had lots of heart and tugged on my emotions the entire time. I liked that it was an original story with a powerful message centering on the concept of HOPE. Life isn't easy but perseverance, accepting that things need to change and loyalty go a long way. Because in the end LOVE heals and may also give you strength to conquer any hardship or hurdle.

The message of SACRIFICE in this story was pretty powerful as well. Both characters made life changing sacrifices for the other when the outcome wasn't a guarantee.  Their bond and deep rooted love for one another gave them strength to support each other and be a solid support  system when things seemed dismal and beyond their control.

Fix me a shake please...I loved - Keep Me Still! I'm a sucker for a story that makes your heart bleed a bit. I plan to read anything Caisey Quinn writes.
