Blog Tour: Man of My Dreams by Faith Andrews

Cover done by: Mae I Design

Synopsis

Mia Murphy may be married to the man of her dreams. But the man in her dreams is the one that got away—her high school crush.

Mia’s stuck in a rut, just like every other stay-at-home mom, and the only thing saving her from her monotonous routine is her perfect husband, Declan. He’s gorgeous, he adores her, and the man stole her heart with his sexy singing voice. Mia feels like the luckiest girl in the world, until she discovers that Mr. Perfect is not Mr. Faithful. Mia is devastated. Everything she once believed about Declan and their marriage is now covered in a big cloud of doubt and regret. On impulse, she kicks the cheating bastard out, pushing them into a separation that could mean the end of the picture-perfect couple.

But when Mia receives an invitation to her high school reunion, she finds herself abandoning the present for the oh-so-alluring pull of the past. Although her heart still belongs to her husband, inescapable thoughts of her crush, Noah, resurface. And ten years later, Noah isn’t afraid to make his move. When the build-up of fantasies and ‘what ifs' comes to a head, sparks fly and it’s Mia’s turn to question if her marriage is everything she wants out of life. Searching for answers, Mia dives head first into dating Noah, falling further away from her husband and closer to her old flame.

But Declan’s not giving up so easily. Mia is his one and only and he’s not about to let another man win her heart.

Melanie says...

First I would like to say that I. Love. Declan! He the most swoon worthy book boyfriend ever!

The story starts off with a teenage Mia crushing hard on Noah the star baseball player. She spent all four years of high school trying to get him to notice her but he never makes a move and she is too scared to make one herself.

... I know if we ever touched—in that way—it would be like a thousand sparks of meant-to-be coming to a culmination. Surely he’d realize what he was missing out on. And I—who am I kidding? I wouldn’t be able to form a sentence, let alone explain to the guy that I’m the girl destined for him. - Mia

Declan is a freshman in college when he lays eyes on sophomore Mia and it takes him a month to get up the courage to ask her out. When he finally does she agrees to go out with him. He is instantly smitten with her, and she, him.

... it doesn’t take a genius, or more than a week, to see that Mia is not just some girl. She’s the girl. I might have known this that day in the library, but our phone conversations and minor run-ins this week have solidified it. She’s take-home-to-mom, put-a-ring-on-her-finger, mother-of-my-children material. And I haven’t even kissed her yet. - Declan

As marriage and children get in the way of their relationship, doubt begins to take hold of both of them. Things that could have been easily talked about turned into resentment and blame. It was so sad to watch their beautiful love for one another fall apart. I rooted for them all along and Declan stole my heart. He made a very bad mistake but it could have been a lot worse had he not come to his senses - but I still wanted to bitch slap him for what he did.

“Yeah, I am tired of pretending, Declan. I’m tired of feigning perfection. I thought our family was perfect, until you stopped fighting for us. And now I’m just tired of pretending you give a shit.” - Mia

Mia and Declan take a break, just at the same time she is going to her high school reunion and comes face to face with Noah, her high school crush and she starts thinking about all of the what if's as he is telling her that he always had a crush on her too. There is instant attraction and he is single.

“... I have to admit this is the best date I’ve ever been on. Even if it’s technically not a date. And if it weren’t for your douche of a husband making one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever known second guess her whole life...I would have dropped you at home because I’m not the type to go after what’s taken. But Mia, you are irresistible...you deserve better than a husband who takes you for granted because of his own insecurities.” - Noah

Mia has a choice to make.  Declan, husband and father if her children or Noah, the one that got away, successful business owner who is ready to offer the world to her and her children. They both want her. She has feelings for both men. Who will get the girl? I guess you will have to read this AWESOME book to find out!!!
