Blog Tour: Review of Far Too Tempting by Lauren Blakely

Jane Black has written the breakup album of the century, earning her a Grammy, a huge legion of new fans, and the pressure to repeat her success. Sure, the heartbreak from her husband’s unconventional abandonment might have been her inspiration, but it hasn’t done her any favors in the dating department. So when Matthew Harrigan, the toughest music journalist out there, asks for an interview, Jane agrees—as long as her personal life is completely off-limits.

British, gorgeous, and way too tempting, Matthew’s the first guy Jane’s been attracted to since her husband. As she spends more time with him and their relationship heats up, though, so does her writer’s block. How can the queen of the break up pen the perfect follow-up when she’s seriously in love?

Far Too Tempting is about Indie Rock Singer-Song Writer Jane Black whose album has just won her a Grammy for Album of the Year. The album is written based off the devastating breakup of her marriage. In the story we also meet Matthew Harrigan who is a music critic who is also interested in Jane.
She now must return to New York after winning Album of the Year where she is faced with the pressures from her manager to write a new album, her impending divorce from her husband whom she still loves, and trying to maintain a stable life for her son Ethan.
Matthew is hoping to get the first interview from Jane when she returns to New York and wants to go behind the scenes with her as she prepares for her next album. He isn't prepared though when he realizes it is going to be hard to separate business and pleasure when their feeling for each other come to the surface. Jane is afraid to let her guard down at first and has a hard time believing that Matthew wants to pursue a relationship with her and just isn't in it for a good story. She eventually realizes that he has a heart of gold and will do whatever it takes to make her happy and help her succeed.
The two main characters in this story are very engaging and lovable. The banter between them is fun and entertaining. This story brought out every emotion in me. I laughed with them, I cried with them, and I cheered for them in hopes that they would find a way to make their relationship work and be happy.
Far Too Tempting is a not only a love story but also a story about self discovery, letting go, and finding a way to move on.
"I need to let go. But not of Aidan. I need to say good-bye to the woman I used to be. Because there's a better me now. A stronger me, a happier me. I'm the person I want to be. I don't need a man to be happy, and I don't need a man to be unhappy. I just need me, and I like who I am-mom, sister, daughter, friend."
"It's a good feeling to trust someone, to let yourself trust someone."
