Blog Tour: Review of Conflicted by Sophie Monoe

When you think about your life are there things you would reverse?

Derek Scott is the twenty-six year old drummer of Battlescars. With a past marred by tragedy, he has a hard time letting people in. He's also made his share of mistakes. Now, he's trying to come to terms with the choices he has made recently and what they mean for him.

When someone from his past comes back into his life, Derek thinks maybe he can get back on track. However, things unravel, leaving him more unclear than ever. When long kept secrets find him and force him to decide what really matters in his life, will he be able to choose a path - or will he always be conflicted?

5 Star Review

Another job well done by Sophie Monroe! I absolutely love the Battlescars series. Each book is based on one member of the band but all of them show up again in each book. Conflicted focuses on Derek and all of the issues he has had to deal with in life. The issues started at a very earlier age and he still hasn't figured out how to deal with them. He is very close to his band members but is conflicted about opening up to them and telling them some of his issues. There is one person in his life that he feels comfortable talking to and she also happens to be his best friend Blake's little sister. They have a long history between them that they have kept secret because Blake is so over protective of Joss and Derek is afraid of what will happen if he finds out they have a history together and they have had had feelings for each other for a long time.

Joss seems very young and immature in the beginning which is due to her older brother Blake being so overbearing. She is tired of him telling her how to live her life. She ends up going to spend a few days with Derek while she is in town visiting and things heat up. They are both hesitant to start a relationship because of Blake so they agree to remain friends. They both start to see other people but when things issues from Derek's past start to resurface Joss is the one he runs to for comfort. They realize through it all they are right for each other and can get each other through anything.

Sophie keeps you on your toes throughout the entire book. It takes so many twists and turns that you have to keep turning the pages to see what happens. I love how she changes perspectives throughout the entire book as it is exciting to see what is going through each persons mind.
