Blog Tour & Giveaway: : Review of Life's Perfect Plan by Sarah Goodman

“First comes love…then comes marriage…then comes a baby in a baby carriage.” We’ve all heard this saying. In fact, Elizabeth lived and planned her life by this children’s nursery rhyme. What happens when life doesn't go according to plan? What happens when the life you created falls apart? How do you pick up the pieces? When do you finally realize what life handed you is indeed perfect, even if it was never part of your plan?

Elizabeth “Beth” Thomas is a thirty year old senior associate at a law firm. Married to her college sweetheart, Grant, they have traveled, built their dream home, and are ready to become parents. They struggle with infertility. Grant wants a normal life again. He wants to go back to the way it was before trying to have a baby consumed their lives. Once they agree to go back to a “normal” life, life hands over a different plan for Beth.

Beth struggles with loss and heartache. She leans on her family, her two best friends, and her doctor. What Elizabeth doesn't see is that her life is going according to plan, only it took a different route to get there.

"Sometimes we plan our perfect life, but life tends to give us life's perfect plan.”

Lyndsie says...

I knew going into this book that my heart would break many times. Life’s Perfect Plan… is there such thing as a perfect plan? And if there is, you know nothing remains perfect forever.
Beth & Grant are happily married, have their dream home and now they are ready to take the next step in their lives... children. After trying for over a year and having no luck getting pregnant Beth sees a specialist. This part for me was very emotional because I personally went through something very similar. I didn’t have to go to the extent Beth did but I did have to take medication to have my son. The ups, the downs, the arguments with the husband, everything; I understood completely and thought Sarah did a wonderful job in addressing what can be such a sensitive subject for women.
Beth makes one important decision for her and Grant without his acknowledgment. She didn’t do it to be mean, she just wanted to surprise her husband. The only problem is life took an ugly twist. Life will never be the same. How will she move on with her life once something this big rocks her whole world? Hopefully having wonderful friends like Ella & Kate will help her through it. And maybe just maybe a very unexpected person will pop into her life and show her life is still worth living.
I am not one to write spoiler reviews so I don’t want to go into too much detail. You REALLY need to read it and experience it for yourself. It’s a beautiful story on what life is all about. Everything can change in one second and it’s all about how you pick up and move on with your life, and you know what? Sometimes no plan is needed for life. I think that’s the hardest thing to grasp in real life. Just live for today!
