IT HAPPENED IN VEGAS.

I can't be held responsible. Things that happen there are supposed to stay there, right? Right? Yeeeah. Not so much.

Andie's just days away from tying the knot, but there's just ooooone little glitch. Apparently, she's already married. Or someone with her name is married to a guy out in Oregon of all places, and the courthouse won't issue her a marriage license until it's all cleared up. Tripping her way through cow pies and country songs to meet up with a man who gets around places on horseback is her very last idea of how to have a good time, but if she's going to get married, make partner at the firm, and have two point five kids before she's thirty-five, she needs to get to the bottom of this snafu and fix it quick ... before her fiance finds out and everything she's been working toward goes up in flames.

Shine Not Burn is one of those rare books that stands out in my head and leaves me wanting more.  When the city girl meets the country boy, sparks will fly!!

Andie has had a ‘lifeplan’ for as long as she can remember, have a career, get married, your typical fairy tale.  But, when you throw in a hunk of a cowboy, sometimes plans don’t always work out and what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.  She decides to go to Vegas with her girlfriends for a bachelorette party and in the process loses her boyfriend of three years.  As bad as she didn’t want to go, it turns into the trip of a lifetime.  While deciding to just break loose and have a good time, she stumbles onto Mack.  (And, I do mean stumble, lol)

Mack is the typical cowboy, the good old American country boy.  He works the farm and doesn’t do anything spontaneous.  So, when his brother gets him to come to Vegas for his bachelor party, it is one trip he doesn’t soon forget.  And when he meets Andie, she’s a woman he doesn’t want to forget either.

“I can’t let you go because you’re mine.” – Mack

Andie and Mack have this undeniable attraction and I loved it!!  They share one night together and it is a lot more than either one bargained for.  So, two years later when preparing for her upcoming wedding, she gets a shocker.  She is already married!!  To a sexy cowboy named Mack.

So, she knows what she has to do.  Go to Oregon and get a divorce but sometimes life really can throw a curveball.  She brings her city slicker self to a whole different world.  She doesn’t remember much from Vegas and is determined to get her lifeplan back on schedule.  From the time she arrives at the ranch, it is nothing like she planned.  She is drawn to Mack but is he worth throwing away all she thought she needed in life?  Sometimes love can surprise you.  Mack knows what he wants and a divorce is definitely not one of them.  He is angry, notknowing the truth behind what has kept them apart for so long.  But, he knows he still wants Andie.

“You’re the last woman I ever want to be with.” - Mack

Not only was this book full of romance and chemistry, but oh so hilarious!!  I love seeing the big city girl on the ranch and how she seems to find a peaceful side of herself that she never thought possible.  Can she really be happy being away from all she has ever known?  She gets into the funniest situations trying to learn about Mack and his life in the country.  Then along comes a lot of embarrassment that left me laughing.  I think I could have read a whole other book just on her shenanigans on the farm.  Their chemistry is undeniable and if you like a good sexy cowboy, then you will love Mack.  I was definitely not disappointed and easily give this one 5 stars!!
