Blurb:

Celeste Hebert appears to have it all, but there are many things she's never had, been forbidden from having.

One night. One song. One kiss. The perfect trifecta to unleash the floodgates of a forbidden attraction between the widow and her husband’s bad boy cousin, Adrian.

Celeste endeavors to rebury the feelings that surface after this one night since her powerful family despises him. Kindred spirits, best of friends they attempt to douse their attraction; however, Adrian always seems to know exactly how to push her buttons and may prove too much to resist.

Having defied his family by making his way on his own terms, Adrian struggles to regain their acceptance. When he meets his cousin’s wife and wants her for his own, he feels he’s finally lived down to the title—black sheep. But, when his cousin dies unexpectedly, Adrian fights his attraction and swears to honor them both by helping her raise her boys.

Finding himself enveloped in a cocoon of love and acceptance, Adrian knows it’s more than just physical attraction. However, unforeseen events threaten to destroy those he now holds dear and his newfound peace.

Will the ties that bind them be their undoing?

Elle says:

Everything I’ve Never Had is the second book from author Lynetta Halat, and it’s an absolutely incredible story!

The story opens and instantly sucks you in to this world of forbidden love, powerful families, and drama that lasts from the prologue to the end. If you’re looking for an angst-free, fluffy book, this novel is not that kind of read.

Celeste is a widow and now single mother who lusts after someone she can’t have. Intimidated into silence for years by her rich and powerful family, she follows the rules and stays off their radars. Her character is easy to love, and I found myself mentally begging the author to give her a happily ever after the further into the story I read. Of all the characters, I think Celeste showed the most growth and change, and I was elated with who she became by the end of the story.

Adrian didn’t get lured into the family politics. He’s the rebellious Hebert and never succumbed to their influence. As much as I love his care free and independent spirit, what truly makes Adrian a swoon worthy book boyfriend is how he treats Celeste’s children. He’s this incredible father figure to them and he selflessly puts their needs before his own. Adrian goes out of his way to make sure that Celeste and her boys are always taken care of.

Overall I thought the story was phenomenal. It is one of my favorite reads for 2013. Lynetta Halat is known for writing unconventional love stories, and she definitely held true to her style with this novel. There are so many unexpected twists throughout the story. Just when you think everything is unicorns and rainbows for the characters, their world is turned upside down. During the most unexpected twist for me, I almost thought I was going to have to write an angry letter to Lynetta for ripping my heart to shreds and leaving me blubbering like a lunatic. Luckily I regained my sanity before the story ended.

If you haven’t already gotten your hands on Everything I’ve Never Had, you’ve been missing out. This drama packed roller coaster ride is guaranteed to be one of your favorite reads for the year, so one-click it now and get to reading!
