REVIEW TOUR: V.I.P. BY M. ROBINSON

BECKY'S 4 STAR REVIEW:

Book 1.. VIP was 4 stars for me. We are introduced to the irresistible Sebastian Vanwell and his wife Julie. He seems to have the perfect life. He is a very successful yacht broker and marries to the love of his life, Julia. They have a beautiful son. So, all the ingredients for a perfect life.

Julia and Sebastian have known each other all her life, literally. When Sebastian met Julia's adopted sister Olivia, he just knew he loved her too but in two opposite ways.. Sebastian could not stand the thought of crushing Julia so he and Olivia were forced to keep their relationship a secret. After tragedy struck in the most awful way, Julia and Sebastian forged a bound that they thought was unbreakable..

Then.... He meets Ysabelle (Who bears a striking resemblance to Olivia) and his perfect life becomes a tornado. She is not your normal beauty. She is a VIP. Where he comes from a posh life, past, present and future. She has lived a life of hell and now only worries about herself. I know I should feel bad for Julia but I see Ysabelle as the underdog and I always cheer for the underdog.

Book 2... The Madam was a 5 star read. M. Robinson definitely turned the heat up in this one. It's full of more angst and one Hot Alpha Male who has made my Top 10 list.

We met The Madam briefly in Book 1 but this story is all about her (a.k.a Lilith Veronica Stone)  She is one b*tch I would not want to mess with. She is one of those characters that you have a love/hate relationship with. I really really hated to love her lol.

VIP has been in her family for many generations, passed down from mother to daughter and so on and so on. She basically started her training to take over VIP in the womb. Her mother was an evil witch that I wanted to jump through my Kindle and strangle!

Madam is a story of pure raw grit and power and I loved every twisting turn of it.

Book 3.. MVP was an easy 4 stars for me. The Epilogue for Madam and Prologue for MVP had me holding my breath to get to this one! We go back to Ysabelle after she left Sebastian behind. The writing style seemed to have shifted some in this one. There were some parts that I call "filler parts." Those are the pieces of the story that I could've 1. either lived without or 2. seemed repetitive.

Shes confused, shes lost and although some may not be happy with  the ending, I got the closure I needed.. Although this one wasnt my favorite, I feel M. Robinson wraps up this Trilogy wonderfully and it will be a series I read again.

BLOG TOUR AND REVIEW: MAYHEM BY JAMIE SHAW

Displaying mayhem.jpg

Synopsis:When college freshman Rowan Michaels meets gorgeous, up-and-coming rock star Adam Everest, she knows a player like him is the last thing she needs after her ex-boyfriend shattered her heart. But she can't stop thinking about the kiss they shared on his tour bus.
On the first day of school, Rowan is stunned when Adam saunters into her French class. He's soon failing miserably, and, on a whim, she offers to tutor him. But Adam doesn't recognize her as a makeup-free, glasses-clad college student—a far cry from the beautiful, mysterious "Peach" he met at his concert.
During a wild weekend on tour with the band, Rowan can't help falling for the sweet guy buried beneath Adam's rocker persona. Yet she knows she could never compete with the girls constantly throwing themselves at his feet. She'd just end up hurt … again.
Peach is all Adam thinks about, though, and when Rowan realizes this, she has a decision to make: stay just friends to protect her fragile heart … or reveal the truth about the night they met and admit she's fallen completely, hopelessly in love with him.

SARAH'S REVIEW:

I really enjoyed Mayhem by Jamie Shaw. I love books about rock stars and this one did not disappoint. Even though it was much tamer than what I am used to it had a great storyline.

Rowan and her friend Dee decide to go to a concert at a local club. Rowan gets all glammed up by Dee and hardly recognizes herself when she looks in the mirror. While they are there Rowan catches her boyfriend of three years with another woman. She is completely devastated and when she goes outside to get some air she runs into Adam Everest, the lead singer of the band that is performing. He takes her back to his bus to comfort her, things get a little hot and heavy and Adam tells her to come back to the bus after the show. The entire time they are together Adam always calls her "Peach" and he even introduces her to his band mates. Rowan decides going back to the bus after the show is a bad idea so she leaves without another word.

Rowan starts college soon after and can't believe her eyes when Adam walks into her French class. He doesn't recognize her from the concert though. When Adam gets a warning from the French professor that if he doesn't get it together he will be kicked out Rowan steps up and offers to help him pass the class. With Adam always being on road with the band he convinces Rowan to spend the weekend with him to tutor him. When she arrives on the bus Shawn asks her if they have met before and she tells him no as she doesn't want to be recognized. How long will it be until Adam figures out that Rowan is "Peach", the woman who turned his world upside and then left without saying goodbye? Will Rowan decide to just remain friends with Adam as she is afraid of getting her heart broken again or will she take a chance on him?

I really loved the connection between Adam and Rowan. I loved the secondary characters and feel they added lots of depth to the storyline. This was a fun sexy story and I definitely recommend reading it.  I can't wait for Dee and Joel's story!

Excerpt:
"When the door opens behind me, I sit up straight and hurriedly sniff in my tears as I wipe my shaking fingers across my slippery cheeks. I hear the flick of a lighter, and then someone sits down next to me on the stairs, puffing a cigarette. When I look over at him, I nearly choke.
He gazes back at me, starting at my hot-pink heels and then raking his way up, and then he chuckles. “Are they letting people in yet?”
Adam. He’s ditched the shades and cap, and now his dark brown hair is framing his gorgeous face, stretching almost to his chin. I look away quickly, hoping he can’t tell I’ve been crying.
“Sorry about that,” I say. And I hear the hoarse sadness in my voice, but I couldn’t keep it out.
When he reaches over and brushes my tangled hair away from my eyes, I tense.
“Is everything okay?” he asks, and I half laugh. No, everything is not okay.
“Everything’s fine.”
“Then why have you been crying?”
“No reason.”
“You get all dolled up to sit outside of rock shows crying by yourself?”
I lift my gaze to stare into his eyes, and something in them makes me believe he really cares. Or maybe that’s just what I want to see, but I suddenly need to tell someone. “My boyfriend’s in there.”
“And?"
“With another girl. I just caught him cheating.”
Adam takes a deep puff of his cigarette, nodding as he sighs it back out. “Want me to fuck him up?”
I laugh, and he smiles at me. “Would you?”
“If you want me to.”
“Why?”
He shrugs. “Because I offered.”
“Why’d you offer?”
“Who knows why I do anything I do?” He stares at me while I wait for an answer. “I just do.”
That’s a good enough explanation for me, so I look back to my knees again, letting out a shaky breath. I can’t believe I just laughed. At a time like this, Adam Everest made me laugh.
“Anyway, your boyfriend is a dumbass,” he says out of nowhere.
“How do you know?”
His gray-green eyes wash over me. “Look at you.”
I blush like hell, but I know he’s just trying to make me feel better. “You thought I was an idiot when you first saw me.”
Adam chuckles and shakes his head. “I thought you were cute as a peach.” His lips hold the cigarette in his mouth as he stands up, holding a hand down to me. My heart stops; Adam Everest is offering me his hand. In faded denim jeans, all torn up at the knees, and a fit olive-green button-down rolled up to his elbows, he makes my heart race to a nonexistent finish line. “Come on, Peach.”
I take his hand, and he lifts me to my feet, leading me away from the building. “Where are we going?”
“To get you a drink. I think you need one.”
“I’ve had a few,” I think out loud, slowing to a stop.
Adam gazes over his shoulder at me, his eyebrow cocked when he asks, “Are you saying you don’t want another?”
I take a moment to consider his question.
Just a moment, and then I keep walking." --Jamie Shaw, Mayhem

The Awakening of Ivy Leavold by Sierra Simone

Book Details:
Title:   The Awakening of Ivy Leavold (Markham Hall Series Book #1)
Author:   Sierra Simone
Genre:   Historical Romance
Release Day:  January 12, 2015

Synopsis:
Yorkshire, 1879
I am alone.
When Ivy Leavold is left destitute by her brother’s death, she is taken in by her cousin’s brooding, tortured widower--Julian Markham.  Handsome and possessive, it’s not long before Ivy falls for him.  But Mr. Markham has dark secrets, secrets that may put Ivy in danger...
I am afraid.
As Ivy unravels the mystery surrounding her cousin’s death, she falls deeper and deeper in love with Julian, who opens her body and her mind to his indomitable will.  But even as he draws pleasure and desire from her night after night, Ivy can’t shake the feeling that their passionate affair may end in violence…
And I am completely his.

Excerpt:
I placed my hand in his, and he pulled me close, his lips brushing against my ear.  “Do you trust me?”
Any well-brought up woman would say no.  But I wasn’t well-brought up, hadn’t been anything remotely like that since my parents died.  “Yes,” I whispered.
“Good.”
His hands slid down over my shoulders to my waist, and he dropped a kiss on my lips.  I tilted my face toward him, wanting more, but he moved around behind me, and I felt his fingers dance down my neck, down to the hollow between my shoulder blades where the buttons to my dress began.  One by one, the buttons tugged and loosened, freeing me incrementally.
The dress slid down my body, the silk whispering against my petticoats and my corset.  “A woman’s first time should be entirely about her,” he said in a low voice.  “I promise to do my best, but you test every limit of my self-control.”
Oh, how I hoped that was true.  I knew I should expect gentleness, but that wasn’t ever what I had responded to from Julian.  Seeing him at the edge of his restraint, his eyes half-lidded as he barely resisted his own darkest urges, knowing it was me who made him that way, it made me just as wild.  I craved that, that simultaneous feeling of power and lack of power.
“Don’t be too gentle,” I murmured.
“With you, wildcat, I don’t think there’s any real risk of that.”
My petticoats fell away, and he laid them carefully over a chair.  Then came my corset, my breasts feeling heavy and full without its support.
When I was entirely naked, he stood before me, his eyes taking in every dip and curve of my body.  I felt his eyes like his fingers, as if he were marking with his gaze all of the places he wanted to kiss.  And I saw clearly the outline of his desire, his erection large and hard in his breeches.  His eyes kept lingering on my breasts, on the place between my legs.
“You were made for fucking,” he said roughly.
I looked at his green eyes, the way his body exuded power and wealth and lust and raw animal need.
“I was made for you,” I answered.

Reynold Carter’s picture perfect Hollywood life ended the moment the paparazzi got hold of his girlfriend’s cheating scandal. As he watches his life unfold in the tabloids, he comes to a crossroads in his career and his purpose.

When Reynolds takes on the challenge of a new project, his world collides with that of Liz. Neither of them expected their professional relationship to evolve into friendship, or love.

SHELLY'S 5 STAR REVIEW:

Have your kleenex handy when you start this book.  You will cry tears of heartbreak and then tears of happiness and joy.

It starts off right away with a great tragedy of Liz's husband being murdered.  Her life is shattered but she must go on for her 3 boys.  The story describes Jack's murder but them jumps ahead a few months.  Liz looks like she has picked up all the pieces of her life but in fact she is still struggling with Jack's death.

The journey takes on a path that discovers friendship, family values and true love.  This story is so eloquently written.  It makes you believe in true love.  It is a family that survives heartbreak and learns their is a future.  As they move on into the future they do not have to forget the ones in the past.  This book will wrap itself around your heart and make you sad, happy, and hopeful.

but the great ones, no matter how they end,

Excerpt

But what can I say? I’m Alex Lewis after all. The multi-millionaire with a jackhammer-sized cock. There’s not a woman alive that doesn’t want a piece of this. And that’s the fucking problem. I don’t want any of them.
All because of one girl. She ruined everything by burning her mark deep inside my chest. She was the girl I’d trusted with my life, and in return, royally fucked me over. I had decided there and then I’d never let it happen again. Every move would be calculated precisely. Each encounter would be strategised to perfection.

Take Me With You Teaser 1
Excerpt
Grant practically bounded across the room until he was directly in front of me. Then, his hands were cupping my cheeks so tenderly that it was as if he thought I might break in half. Without a word, his mouth dropped down on mine, and the kiss was as light as a feather. It was a question, a soft and delicate question, one he had never asked before—permission.

When I didn’t pull away from him, he received his answer. The kiss deepened, and he coaxed all the anger out of me. He drew it out as if sucking venom from an open wound. He kissed me so heatedly and lovingly that not even a drop remained. All that was left was a bottomless well of emotions of how much I loved and missed him.

When I came back into the moment, I heard the catcalls and yells from the people around us. It was then I remembered that we were in a crowded room, surrounded by people, and Grant had kissed the breath out of me. I flushed from head to toe at the attention, but he wouldn’t let me pull away.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I shouldn’t have blown up on you. I shouldn’t have done anything. You’re all that matters.”

I stared up at him in confusion. “Who are you, and what have you done with Grant McDermott?”

He laughed that beautiful glorious laugh, and a smile lit up his whole face. It was that damn smile that had won me over in the first place.

“Run away with me,” he murmured.

“What?”

“Run away with me. Let’s get out of here.”

“Where are we going?”

“Anywhere. Everywhere.”
